    Integrated MSc Versus B.Tech

    Sir,

I am selected both in B.Tech in ECE in a NIT as well as For Intergrated M. Sc courses for which INSIRE scholarship will also be available. Neither my gurdians nor myself could come to an agreement which course I shall study. May you please help?

National Institute of Technology is one the best institutes in the country offering various colleges. Both the BTech course and the MSc course offered by the institute are good. The decision needs to be taken by you on what kind of career aspirations you have. If you desire to work for Multinational organisation or become an entrepreneur then BTech is the better option. The institute is known to offer good placements.
However if you are interested in the research area then MSc is the better option. After MSc you could appear GATE and pursue higher studies.
Decision needs to be taken based on what kind of career you are interested in.

Choosing career can be a difficult task. But it needs to be decided by you yourself. You need to decide on the basis of what you would like doing i.e. what your strengths are. If you are interested in a teaching or research profession then you need to take up MSc course. If you are interested in the corporate world or would like to become an entrepreneur then you could pursue the Btech course.
Both the courses offered by National Institute of Technology are good. Choose the course based on what you should be your career.

Well dear you have got both offer for B.Tech at NIT and INSIRE scholarship, so I can guess your AIEEE rank will be within 15,000 AIR.

However, you have worked had and appeared for AIEEE for getting NIT. Now when you are gettiing NIT then whats to think about. INSIRE scholarship was introduced by Honorable PM of India Dr.Manmohan Singh for attracting talented and academically fit students to pursue general science courses and carry out research works. INSIRE scholarship offers 80,000 per annum of scholarship.

But the most important thing is that INSIRE scholarship Scheme is meant fro observing potential fit candidates studying pure science and carry out rsearch work. So, checkout wather you want to make your career in research or not. Of not then simply go with NIT.

Even if you are getting M.sc in reputed Institutes it can not be equalize with that of B.Tech.

CONGRATS FOR YOUR HUGE ACHEIVEMENT. THE CHOICE BETWEEN THE TWO IS DIFFICULT BUT A RIGHT CHOICE MATTERS ALOT. KEEPING THE FOLLOWING THINGS IN MIND WHILE MAKING THE DECISION :-
    1. EITHER YOU WANT TECHNICAL STUDIES OR BASIC STUDIES
2.YOU WANT TO WORK AS A SCIENTIST OR ENGINEER
    3. YOU HAVE INTEREST IN PHD OR NOT
    4. YOU WANT TO EARN MONEY EARLIER OR YOU CAN GIVE MORE TIME TO YOUR STUDIES.

KEEPING THE ABOVE POINTS IN MIND AND TAKE YOUR DECISION.

    BEST OF LUCK

Thumbs up Re: Integrated MSc Versus B.Tech

As you got ECE in B.Tech
But didn't mentioned you Msc subject
If you are a poor student you should select Intregated Msc Degree.
Because After Integrared Msc Degeree if you are not able to get job then you are able to chose teaching profession.
SO you need not wait for Job.
But ECE is a also good Branch in comparison to all other branch in B.tech.
So It depends upon you. what youhave condition .If you are getting South states NIT then you have to choose ECE because there job opertunity is more than Integraed Msc.

both courses have different types of oppurtunities and options. i think b.tech. is the good choice than integrated m.sc. because it has more oppurtunities and earning positions than courses after integrated m.sc..

    Re: Integrated MSc Versus B.Tech

There is no need to confuse .
First you decide in which stream would you like to go.
If your are interested in teaching or research areas than M.Sc will be better option for you because after this you can apply for NET for your higher studies.
If you are intersted in professional course than chosse B.Tech.asyou know well that NIT is the best college of India for doing B.Tech
and you are slected for this so donot losse this chance as it give the best placement to the students in top most companies of India so both the stream are better it depends on you in which stream you are interested. So be carefull while taking decission.
