NET exam is a qualifying exam for lectureship in government colleges. UGC carry out the exam two times in a year. Those who qualify the test can apply for the post of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in government colleges. Those who have completed post graduation with at least 55% mark are eligible to attend the exam. SET exam is carried in each state to select candidates as higher secondary teachers in schools. PG in the concerned subject with 50% marks and B.Ed degree is the qualification required to attempt the SET exam. There will be three main papers for NET exam where as there is only two sections in SET exam.

NET stands for National Eligibility test and this examination is conducted by UGC(University grant commission) twice in a year. This examination is only for those who are interested to get lecturer in some top government and private colleges. Those who cracked NET examination will get good salary package. So if you are make your career in teaching, then please try to cracked the NET Examination. To apply for this examination you have to fulfill the given Eligibility Criteria:

~~ You have to complete your Master degree course in any discipline from a recognized University.
~~ Must have scored minimum 55% Marks in post graduation
~~ Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.
~~ Those who have not scored minimum 55% Marks in post graduation are not eligible for NET.
~~ Relaxation in marks is only applicable for SC/ST/PH candidates only.

To apply for this examination you have to attained the age of 19 years.

There is no upper age restriction to apply for Lectureship post, But for Junior Research fellowship post, your age should not be more than 28 years.

There is no restriction in number of attempts in NET Examination, You can apply for this examination Many times. The Notification will be Published twice in a year and the examination is conducted in June and December Every year.

For this year June NET Examination notification was already published and the last date of apply for this examination was already over. If you have missed the chance this year then please wait for this year December NET Examination Notification. The Notification will be Published soon in the month of October this year.

Eligible candidates may fill the NET Application form online Only, But before filling the online application, you have to pay the fees in SBI bank through challan form. You can download the challan form directly from the official website of UGC.

You have to choose 1 subject in NET Examination on the basis of your Post graduation only.

The List of Subjects is available in the UGC Official website, You can download the syllabus and Previous year papers from the official website for Practice. All three papers in NET will be Objective from this June and no negative Marking.
