The candidates who have 10th standard qualification can join Indian Army. The selection process is based on the exam conducted by UPSC. This is for the post of Soldiers and Technical officers. For the post of officer the candidates requires training from any reputed Army Institute. Those who have 10+2 can apply for the NDA and for joining IMA the candidate should be a graduate. The NDA and CDS exam are carried out by UPSC twice in a year. The procedure includes a written test, physical test and medical test. A group test and personal interview will be there also at final stage. Separate exams are conducted for both the graduates and 10+2 candidates. The training will be also given separately. For the post of technical assistant the candidates should be between 16 to 32 years and to join as a soldier the age limit is 16 to 30 years.

You have to attend certain entrance tests to join the Indian Army. UPSC carries out the tests for selecting the eligible candidates in Army. So many vacancies arise in Army like for selecting engineering graduates, other graduates, intermediates and so on. You haven’t mentioned the designation in which you wish to work in Army. The eligibility criterions vary. However, it is certain that Indian Nationals alone can join the Indian Army. Notifications for the various exams in Army will be published in chief employment dailies. Once, you clear the tests, you may have to attend 1 - 2 years training. if u have passed 10+2 with minimum 60% marks then u can appear for nda exam or if u have done graduation then u are qualified for upsc exam.you should preferably have science as a background for technicalline otherwise u have to enter in non technical line.the most important thing is that u should have hips of gk,update ur self with current affairs.etc.read daily newspapers and read various competitive type magazines.also maintain your physical fitness accurately.

if you have passed 10+2.......then you can join the indian army,,,,, but you have to appear form the NDA or UPSC exam.....
so be well prepared for that........

Yes you are eligible for the selection of army. The eligibility is 10th and +2 is enough for joining the army. The age limit is 16-30. You can watch the employment newspapers regularly. There is the possible for the all over announcements. And also you can see the official websites of union public service commission and the national defence academy. Www.upsc.gov.in and www.nda.nic.in. Best of luck. For joining army you can write exams conducted by the upsc.

Inorder to join in Indian army The Qualifications required are:

i)you must have completed your graduation with an aggregate of above 60%.

ii)you must be physically fit and mentally strong.

iii)you must write NDA exam and must get a very good rank in it.

~:: INFORMATION ON INDIAN ARMY ::~

The UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) conducts an exam called the NDA - National Defense Academy which aims at the recruitment of the candidates for the Indian ARMY, NAVY & AIR FORCE.


The Basic Eligibility Criteria for NDA I is :


1. You should be a 12th pass from a recognized school or board with a minimum 50% aggregate.


2. You should have studies Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects if you are applying for the Navy / Air Force.


3. Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.


4. You should be physically fit to apply.


So anybody who fulfills the above criteria's is eligible to apply for the NDA I exam.


--> The selection is based purely on the merit of the NDA exam. No biased selection is there. No reservation even. You have to come in merit if you want to join IMA.


--> The Selection Procedure is first you sit for the exam. If you crack it then you would be called for a Physical Test and SSB Personal Interview.
On successful clearance of all the above, you would be trained for an year before you join the Army.

Indian Military Academy

You should be unmarried .
Your age should be between 19-24 Years .
You should have Degree from a recognized University .
Only male candidates are eligible for exam .

Issuing of application form from 29th Oct 2011 to 28th Nov 2011.
Exam will held on 12th Feb 2012.

CDS-II exam

Issuing of application form from 2nd June 2012 to 2nd July 2012.
Exam will held on 16th Sep 2012.

To join the Indian Army you can apply for the NDA entrance exam that is conducted by the UPSC.

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and the exam is conducted to recruit candidates in Army, Air force or Navy Respectively. The Notifications about the exams are given in the newspapers or its is updated in the upsc website.

To appear for the exams:

You should complete your 10+2 with any discipline from a recognized board.
You must be a citizen of India.
You must be 16.5 to 19 years of age.
Upper age relaxations applicable.
You must be Physically fit

Exam pattern:

The Selection is based on your Performance in Written and Personnel Interviews. The Written exam is divide into General Ability and Mathematics.

This exam is conducted twice a year to select candidates for Training in National defence academy.
You should be 12th passed or appearing student(Physics and maths compulsary for Air force and Navy).
You age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

after graduation:-
C.D.S:
This the exam which makes you eligible for defence for many posts such as administrative,technial.officers,logisticsetc
You should be a graduate or B.tech (B.tech is compulsary for Navy as well as Physics and maths at 12th for air force and navy)
Age should be 19-24 for army,19-23 for air force,19-22 for navy cadres.
Should be fit in all respects.
you should have good physical health and you should free from diseases.
you height should be 157c.m.s (minimum)

U.E.S:
University entry scheme is for engineers to get into Technical departments of Defence.
You can apply directly to respective technical departments of army,navy,air force.
Through SSB interview you are selected under this scheme.
Age should be 18-25 years.

NDA exam

CDS exam.

Both the examination is conducted by UPSC every year two times.

Eligibility for NDA examination :

Class 12th passed with any stream.

Age limit :
16.5 years to 19 years.

Through this exam you can join :
Indian Army
Indian Airforce
and Indian Navy.

You must be Unmarried .

And for CDSE exam the eligibilty is :

you must be graduated in any stream from a recognized university.

Age limit for joining Indian Army :
19 years to 24 years.

The CDSE is conducted to join
