Since you are from the diploma background you need not appear for the engineering exams conducted for the 12th pass outs. You will need to appear for the lateral entry exam. This is conducted by State Technical Education Department. By this you can join directly into the second year of engineering. After completion of your diploma, you can get admission in to B.tech through E-CET exam which is conducted in april/may of every year. Through E-cet exam you can directly join in to B.tech 2nd year(lateral entry scheme).

No dear, its the required exam for getting admission into B TECH after completion of Diploma.
But you can still enquire about the management seats but if you get also, you have to do it 4 years.
By lateral entry you will be directly placed into 2nd year of B TECH.
so you must go for E-CET.

Actually after polytechnic successfully if you are interested to do Engineering you need to crack ECET.It is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTU) in the month of May.After Written test result in the form of Ranks.Admission will be done via Counselling if you got admission in University you must complete 4-Years Engg.If you are interested to do in private colleges the duration is 3- years only.Fee in govt colleges is 10000/-p.a.in private colleges 35000/-p.a.but for govt seat there is need of good rank.

Yes,you can join B.tech after Diploma through lateral entry scheme.For this you have to write the Lateral Entry (LEET)test.The eligibility conditions for LEET are:

lateral entry means that you can take directly admission in 2nd year if you have already do any diploma course.
But there are very few seats in colleges so
if you want to take admission through Lateral entry then you have to search many colleges for it because every college has generally 4 to 5 seats for lateral entry program.
