    Re: Information about civils exam

    This is one of the exams conducted by UPSC. The exam consists of two rounds- the CSAT and Main exam. To enter for the main exam you should first clear the CSAT exam. Be prepared for an interview round thereafter. You can attempt the exam for maximum 4 times. A very large number of students are attempting this exam for limited number of post since it is considered to be the most prestigious exam. Getting through the exam is really difficult. The civil service exams are conducted for various posts. This includes IAS and IPS.

    Re: Information about civils exam

    No, you cannot apply for the main exams directly without attending the preliminary. UPSC conducts the Civil Service exams in 2 stages. They are the Preliminary and mains. Aspirants have to clear the Preliminary test so as to be eligible for attending the mains. An aspirant can attend the test only 4 times in his lifetime. Of course, the Civil Service exam for IAS and IPS are the same. The educational qualification to attend the test is a Bachelors’ degree in any streams. Aspirants should be 21 or above, but should not exceed the age of 30 years. There are considerable relaxations in age for SC/ST, OBC and PWD aspirants.

    there is no way that you can write the main exam without writing the preliminary because on the final rank even the preliminary marks are counted that means its not just for qualification but its marks also count in the over all evaluation,also the from this year onwards the preliminary exam also checks the aptitude of the students .As far as the number of attempts are concerned its four for an general category student and 7 for backward class candidates and its unlimited for sc/st candidates as far as they satisfy the age eligibility criteria .
    Also i have to mention that civil services exam is for both IAS AND IPS and also many other departments which help in the administration of the government ,the list is very high so i am attaching the IAS notification to give you the complete details

    dear student,
    i would like to tell you that IAS is one of the toughest job in indian govtment that is conducted every year
    IAS has three rounds of intensive exposure of your talent inside you, there are following rounds:-
    1->prelims.
    2->mains.
    3->interveiw .
    analysts make an overveiw of candidate through each of the step of minning of gold and finally declears its results.so
    for it a candidate should be above 21 years of age,citizen of india and must be having a graduate degree.so all the best
