    Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, (IGRUA)

    The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, (IGRUA), was established on the 7th November 1985. It is located at the Fasatganj Airfield, Raebareilly district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The academy was set up to bring about improvement in the standards of ground training and flying of Commercial Pilots in India. For this the Akademi is outfitted with all the contemporary and sophisticated trainer aircraft, like up-to-date audio visual training aids and other facilities for effectual ground training. It is operated by highly qualified flying professionals and ground instructors, who have a long experience in the field of aviation and training in flying.

    Courses offered by IGRUA
    There are both Ground and Flying Training for the Candidates to attain a Pilot License. The course duration is of 15 to 18 months.

    Admission process in IGRUA
    The application form must be submitted in the approved format which is obtainable in the IGRUA website. The Candidates must have passed their XII or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects with a minimum of atleast 55% in Mathematics and Physics. In case of SC/ST candidates the maximum marks are 50%. Candidates who are applying for this course should be more than 17 years of age at the time of submitting the application. The Selection of candidates will be decided on the basis of the Entrance Test on a country-wide basis. They are the Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT), Viva and Interview at the final stage.

    Infrastructure of IGRUA
    The Akademi possesses an exceptional infrastructure with a large hostel for the pilot trainees and separate quarters for the staff. It has its own airfield prepared with all the basic facilities and is unquestionably the leading institute of its kind in South Asia. This is one of the oldest training institutes which present all the training skills to the candidates .The establishment is bedecked with all the recent machinery based aircraft for the training of the students. The institute has a large field area which provides the candidates with enough space for training their skills. The institution offers world class training skills so that the candidates can do their work wherever they get a chance, where ever they go.

    I have diploma in electronics and and i did after my tenth standard. Now i am 26 years old and am i eligible to be a pilot or take the education in this college to have one? If 12th is mandate with maths and science can i do the same in correspondence and will i be eligible again? Please advice
