    Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) Entrance Exam

    To join Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers, candidates need to attend UPSC Combined Engineering Service Examination. Candidates can join Group –A service in Railways based on their level of performance in written exam.

    Structure and Pattern of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) Entrance Exam

    The structure of this exam includes two parts. The details about each part is given below -

    Part – 1 – The first part is further sub divided in to two sections namely Section–A and Section–B.

    Section –A – Objective type questions from the below mentioned topic areas are asked in this section
    • General Ability Test (General English and General Studies) 200 marks for 2 hours
    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Paper I – 200 marks for 2 hours
    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Paper II – 200 marks for 2 hours
    Section –B – This section includes descriptive type questions from the following subjects –
    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Paper I – 200 marks for 3 hours
    • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Paper II – 200 marks for 3 hours
    Part – 2 – It is mandatory to pass Part -1 (in both sections) so as to attend Part -2 exam. A Personality test for 200 marks is included in this section.

    • Digital Electronic Circuits
    • Control Systems
    • Computer Engineering
    • Communication Systems
    • Analog Electronic Circuits
    Eligibility criteria of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) Entrance Exam

    B.E/B.Tech graduates from recognized institutes can apply for Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE) Entrance Exam. Minimum age limit to attend this exam is 21 years. Maximum age limit for this is 30 years. Age relaxation is given for reserved category candidates. Candidates should be physically fit so as to apply for this exam.
