Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

Indian Navy is ranked the 5th among the largest Navy in the world, with more than 55, 000 employees. Jobs in Indian Navy are considered as most prestigious among the society. It is attracting many youngsters nowadays due to the good remunerations, career growth and adventurous nature. Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam is the examination organized by Indian Navy for the recruitment of eligible candidates to the naval wing of Defence force.

Structure and Pattern of Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam is conducted twice every year. This is a written test which is divided into four sections. The four sections are

• Science
• Mathematics
• English
• General Knowledge

The paper includes objective type questions and the mode of instruction of question paper will be bilingual, i.e. in English and Hindi. The test is for duration of 60 minutes and all questions are of Matriculation standard. Candidates have to qualify each section separately. Those clearing this written test will be enrolled for Physical Test and Medical test. However final selection is made based on the qualification of candidates in all these three tests.

Qualification Criteria for Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

Students interested to apply for this examination should fulfill some qualification criteria. Following are the required qualifications

• Educational qualification: Applicants must have pursued qualification in Matriculation or equivalent with Science and Mathematics with not less than 55% in aggregate from any reputed institution. Those pursued less than 55% in this level can also apply for the same, if they have passed the higher secondary examination or equivalent with Mathematics and Science of any recognized board with 55% or above.
  
• Nationality: Candidates should be Indian nationals or a subject of Nepal/ Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a Person of Indian Origin.
  
• Marital status: Unmarried male candidates alone are eligible to apply for this examination.
  
• Age: The age of applicants should be between 17 years and 20 years.
  
• Physical standards: (1) Minimum height of the candidates should be 157cm (2) Weight of the candidates should be in proportionate to their height and age (3) Candidates must have well developed chest and the minimum range of expansion should be 5cm (4) Eye standard should be 6/12 without glasses and 6/9 (one eye), 6/12(other eye) with glasses. (5) Applicants must have perfect mental and physical health and should be free from all communicable diseases.

Application Procedure of Indian Navy Sailors Matric Entry Recruitment Exam

All eligible candidates who wish to apply for this examination should submit an application form in the prescribed format that is given in Employment News or other leading newspapers. The form should be filled carefully and sent to the concerned Zonal Recruitment Offices before the last date
