    Indian Law Institute Ph.D in Law Entrance Exam

    Admission to Ph.D courses in Indian Law Institute is carried out through entrance test conducted by the institute. Candidates who have qualified for UGC NET/ JRF, SLET, and M. Phil are not required to appear for the entrance test.

    Structure and Pattern of Indian Law Institute Ph.D in Law Entrance Exam

    Written test consists of two papers and total marks for the test is 100. Paper I consists of questions on Legal Research Methodology. There will be 8 questions in this paper, from which a candidate needs to attempt 5. Each question carries 10 marks which makes a total of 50 marks for Paper I. Paper II is based on the topics covered in core subjects. In this paper also 5 questions need to be answered of 50 marks. Main subjects covered under paper II are
    • Jurisprudence
    • Constitutional Law
    • Indian Penal Code (IPC)
    • Commercial Laws
    Eligibility Criteria for Indian Law Institute Ph.D in Law Entrance Exam

    Candidates having masterís degree in law from any recognized university are eligible for admission. Degree must be obtained with minimum 55% marks. Reserved category candidates need to have 50% marks only. Teaching professionals can expect 5% relaxation in marks. Such candidates should possess minimum 5 year experience in teaching or research.

    Application Process of Indian Law Institute Ph.D in Law Entrance Exam

    Application fee for attending the test is Rs. 1000/-. The fee must be paid in the form of demand draft taken in the name of Indian Law Institute payable at New Delhi. Application form can be collected from the official portal of Indian Law Institute. This must be filled up carefully and submitted to the address of ILI, Bhagwan Dass Road, New Delhi Ė 110 00. DD and a brief description of the research plan must be sent along with the filled up application.
