Indian Army is ranked as the second largest army in the world. A job in Indian Army is very respected and prestigious one among the Indian society. Indian Army organizes various recruitment examinations for selecting young talented people for several posts in the organization. Indian Army Soldiers Nursing Assistants MER Exam is one such selection test organized for the recruitment of eligible individuals to the medical field of Indian army. The selected candidates are given intensive training in order to become fully capable of dedicating themselves to the task of delivering medical services in Indian Army.

Structure and Pattern of Indian Army Soldiers Nursing Assistants MER Exam
Indian Army Soldiers Nursing Assistants MER Exam is organized four times every year. This is a written test which is divided in two papers. The first paper includes three sections. They are:-

• General Intelligence
• Mathematical Aptitude
• General Knowledge

The second paper includes questions from three science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each paper is for duration of 45 minutes. Candidates have to clear both the papers. Each paper carries total marks of 100. Students who successfully qualify the written test will be called for physical test and interview. However final selection will be done based on the students’ qualification in all these tests.

Qualification Criteria for Indian Army Soldiers Nursing Assistants MER Exam

Students need to satisfy certain qualification criteria in order to take part in this examination. They are:

• Nationality: Applicants must be an Indian national or subject of Nepal/ Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee or a Person of Indian Origin.
• Educational qualification: Candidates must have pursued the Matriculation or equivalent from any reputed school and passed the concerned examination of any recognized board with PCB and English.
• Marital status: Unmarried Indian male candidates alone are eligible to apply.
• Age: Applicants should belong to the age group of 16 to 23 years.
• Physical standards: Applicants must satisfy the following physical standards
• Minimum height – should be 167cm, it will be relaxed for the candidates from certain regions.
• Minimum weight – It should be 50kg, which will be relaxed for candidates from certain regions.
• Chest measurement – It should a minimum of 77cm on expansion with minimum range of expansion of 5cm.
• General health – Candidates must be free from all kinds of transmissible diseases or infection or cardiovascular problems.

Application Procedure of Indian Army Soldiers Nursing Assistants MER Exam

The eligible students have to submit an application form to apply for this examination. The blank application forms can be procured from the local Recruitment Offices, Employment Exchanges, District Collector’s Office and Zila Parishads at free of cost. Applicants need to carefully fill the details and send the form in the prescribed format in a plain paper either handwritten or typed.
