    Nice to see that you are Interested in Civil services examination to become IAS Officer. IAS Stands for Indian Administration Services and this examination is Conducted by UPSC Every year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your Graduate degree course from a recognised University, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination. You have to cracked the Preliminary examination paper and Main examination Papers, only then you are eligible to appear for Final Interview for Final selection.

    The Notification of UPSC Civil services examination will be Published soon in the Next Month i.e on February in the employment Newspaper or in the UPSC Website.

    Important Dates :

    >> Date of Publication of Notification : 04/Feb/2012
    >> Last date of apply for this examination : 05/March/2012
    >> Preliminary examination Date : 20/May/2012
    >> Main examination date : 05/Oct/2012.

    Eligible candidates may fill the application form Online Only, There is no Offline application form Facility from this year.

    Eligiblity Criteria :

    >> Only Graduate candidates are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination. Graduation is the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for civil services examination, Final year appearing candidates are also apply.

    You have to cracked this examination within the given Limits, If you have failed to cracked this examination in the Given Chances, then you cant apply for this examination Again.

    Civil Services Examination is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to various services like the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, as well as Group A and Group B Central Services.

    This examination is Conducted in 2 stages : Preliminary examination and Main examination.

    Preliminary examination is also called CSAT (Civil services aptitude test) and this is Objective type and there are 2 papers in this exam, Those who cracked this examination are eligible to appear for the Main examination. Main examination is Descriptive and Consist of 9 papers, You have to choose the Optional Subjects in this examination on the Basis of Graduation.

    The exam notification will be published on 4th February 2012. The last date to send the filled application will be on 5th March 2012. The next IAS exam will be commenced on 20th May 2012. To appear for the exam, you must have completed bachelor’s degree in any stream. The age limit for the exam is 21-30 years. The aspirants can apply both offline and online. Those who apply online can download the application form and the prospectus from the official website of UPSC. These applicants have to remit a fee of Rs. 50 in any branch of State Bank. Other candidates can buy the application form from the nearby post offices. They have to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- as a central recruitment fee stamp.

    Hello, IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. For selecting
    candidates for IAS along with other serices like Indian Police Service
    (IPS) , Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS)
    and others Grade A and Grade B govermant services a Civil service
    examination is coducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

    From this year onwards the pattern of civil services examination is
    changed and hence you must be aware of the new pattern of the exam.
    The preliminary examination that used to be held earlier will be
    replaced by the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).

    Hence the examination will be a three stage process as follows :-

    1)The first stage will be Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).
    2)The second stage will be The Mains examination
    3)The Interview

    The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) will have two papers each
    of two hours duration. Their will be negative marking for wrong
    attempts.

    The examination will test your skills in various fields like Quantitative aptitude,
    Logical reasoning, Decision making, Data interpretation, interpersonal skills.
    Their will also be a second paper which will test your knowledge in General awareness.

    Important dates for the forth coming Civil services exams are
    as follows :-

    Eligibility Criteria is :

    IAS will be done in 3phases:

    You must be a citizen of India. Age limits: You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

    The notification for Civils Examination is out and the Important dates are

    Date of notification: 04-02-2012

    Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 05-03-2012

    Date of Exam (Prelims) : 20-05-2012

    Date of Commencement of Exam(Mains) : 05-10-2012

    There are no special examination for services such as IAS/IPS as both these are a part of civil service examinations, if you fulfill the criteria then you're eligible to apply for Civil Services Examination, Civil services examination is conducted every year by UPSC.

    Academic Qualification :

    * You must be a graduate in any of the streams from a recognized university.

    Age limits :

    You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:

    To become a IAS officer,you should apply for civil service exam and should clear the exam with good rank.
    Civil service exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year once to take qualified students into different service post in government sector.

    To eligible for this exam,you should have completed or appearing for final exam of graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university and your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

    Civil service exam consist of preliminary exam and Main exam.Preliminary exam notification release on February month every year and exam will held on May month every year.After clearing the Preliminary exam,you will eligible for main exam.Main exam will held on October month every year.

    Preliminary exam notification released on 11th Feb 2012,closed on 8th March 2012 and exam going to held on 20th May 2012.Main exam going to held on 15th Oct 2012.

    Hi,

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service and the exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) Board . The notification for the exam are given in the employment newspapers or updated in the UPSC website.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    To appear for the exam you need to be a graduate from a recognized university.
    Final Year students of Graduation are eligible to appear for the exam.
    You must have attained 21 years and must not be more than 30 years.
    Upper Age Relaxation For OBC is 3 years.
    Upper Age Relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.

    Attempts:

    You need to crack the exam within a given limit. If you fail to qualify in the exam then you cannot apply for the exam again.

    General Category Candidates -4 times.
    OBC Candidates- 7 times.
    SC/ST Candidates - No limits.

    Exam Pattern:

    The Exam is Mainly Divided into the Preliminary exam and the Main exam and the preliminary exam consists of 2 papers which carries 200 marks each. If you get qualified in the Preliminary exam you can appear for the Main exam. The Main exam consists of 9 papers. you have to chose the subjects in basis of your graduation.

    Imporatnt Dates of Exam:

    Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

    Also you must be in citizen in India.

    Economics , Electrical Engineering,Geography, Geology ,History, Law,Management,Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Anthropology,Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy.
