    IIT Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM) for MCA

    Indian Institutes of Technology (IITís) conducts the IIT JAM every year on a rotational basis for selecting the aspirants who are qualified to pursue the MCA program of IIT. IIT Madras is conducting the IIT JAM for MCA for the year 2011. Those who clear the test can seek for admissions in any of the IITís. The test is carried out in many centers in India. Aspirants can appear for the test in their convenient test center.

    Structure and Pattern of the IIT Joint Admission Test

    The pattern of the examination will be of objective type. Questions will be on aptitude, logical reasoning and English grammar. In addition, a computer proficiency and common awareness test will be conducted as part of the exam. Aspirants have to attend the test in an Objective Response Sheet by darkening suitable bubbles. The test lasts for a time period of 3 hours. There is minus marking in the test for incorrect answers.

    Qualification Criteria for the IIT Joint Admission Test

    The eligibility criterion to apply for the test is a pass in the Bachelorsí degree with Mathematics or its equivalent. Aspirants must have studied Mathematics as a subject in their graduation at least for 1 year in their graduation. The percentage requirement is 55% for general and OBC aspirants. Those who come under SC/ST or PWD category can avail 5% relaxation in the qualifying exam marks.

    Application Procedure for the IIT Joint Admission Test

    Applicants can procure forms for the test either by post or in person. They can also download forms from the official site of IIT. After suitably filling the forms, aspirants should send it to the official address of IIT Madras prior to the last date. The examination fees for the test can be paid via Demand Draft. Aspirants must enclose the required credentials specified in the information sheet along with the forms.
