    IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam

    Indira Gandhi National Open University carries out the B.Ed entrance exam for the selection of qualified aspirants for studying the Bachelors’ programs in Education in the University. Aspirants who clear the test can study the correspondence course in any regional study centers of IGNOU. The test is carried out mostly in the month of July / August every year.

    Structure and Pattern of the IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam

    The structure and pattern of the test will be of objective type, which comprises of two parts mainly, Part A and Part B. There will be a total of 200 questions in the test. In the first part, there will be questions on GK, common awareness, logical reasoning and teaching and learning at school level. In addition, there will be an English language test in the first part. Questions on the eligibility exam technical subjects will be asked in the 2nd part. The mode of instruction for the IGNOU B.Ed. test shall be English as well as Hindi.

    Qualification Criteria for the IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam

    A pass in the Bachelors’ degree is the pre-requisite criterion to apply for the exam. Aspirants must have done the course from a certified institute. In addition, they should be in-service teachers who have 2 years continuous teaching work experience either on a permanent or temporary basis. They should be teachers working in primary, secondary, higher or senior secondary school, which is recognized by CG, Union Territory or a State Board. There is no age bar to apply for the test.

    Application Procedure for the IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam

    Applicants can obtain forms from the IGNOU regional offices by hand or by post by remitting the form fee. They can also procure the same from the official website of the University. Suitably filled in applications are required to be send to the Head office or regional offices of IGNOU by Speed post or registered post only. Applicants are required to append attested copies of certificates and other pertinent credentials specified in the prospectus along with the forms.
