ICMR Junior Research Fellowship (JRP) Entrance Exam

ICMR Junior Research Fellowship (JRP) Entrance Exam is conducted for admitting the eligible candidates for the 3 years Research programme. They can seek admission in any college with UGC/MCI Certification for doing the course. The test is held usually in the month of July in almost 6 centers in India. Once the fellowship is awarded, it will last for a period of 6 months. Aspirants who clear the test will be awarded an International Fellowship.

Structure and Pattern of the ICMR JRP Entrance Exam

The question paper covers two sections – aptitude and subject specific section. There will be questions on technical aspects in the subject specific section. The test will be comparatively easy for the applicants who have detailed knowledge in the technical subjects. All questions carry equal marks. There is negative marking for wrong answers.

Qualification Criteria for the ICMR JRP Entrance Exam

Students are required to be graduates in Science or Arts in order to apply for the examination. Candidates who have completed an equivalency exam are also eligible. There is special reservation for the backward community. Students should not exceed the age of 28 years. There is age relaxation for the backward castes and tribes.

Application Procedure of the ICMR JRP Entrance Exam

The entrance exam notification will be mentioned in all leading employment dailies in the month of March or April. It will be available in all leading bookstores. Candidates can also download the forms from the official website. More details regarding the applications, one can refer the prospectus along with the form. The filled in forms should be submitted to the Registrar, Academic Section, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh-160012 before the last date.
