Since you are in your 11th standard there is sufficient time for preparation. You need to follow a strict timetable. You need to know all the areas to be covered. Plan to complete them in a particular time frame. Make sure you start from the conceptual level. There will a total of 200 questions. You will need to prepare thoroughly in the area of General Awareness, Basic Mathematics and also English. There will also be a test in the area of legal aptitude. You could purchase the books and reference materials for this purpose. Also make it a point to read the newspaper daily. Solve as many papers as possible. Make sure to correct yourself in the areas you make mistakes.

you should start preparing for English and current affairs/general knowledge right away. a very good knowledge of english is needed both in CLAT and later in law school. start reading the newspaper and magazines like frontline and economist (you can read them online too). buy pratiyogita kiran or darpan for practicing gk and logical reasoning.

you can also start logical reasoning also. according to current trends, critical reasoning is becoming more important than analytical reasoning. i'd recommend that you also actively participate in forums like clathacker. you'll find many questions posted there that you can practice and learn what to expect.

    good luck!

It is good to see that you are interested in Law. It is an excellent choice and offers a lucrative career. As to prepare for the CLAT exam the initial step one needs to have is an in-depth awareness about the syllabus pattern. There are 200 questions in the CLAT entrance test. Each question holds one mark each and totals up to 200 marks. The questions will be asked from English and elementary math’s. In addition to this there will be questions from Legal awareness and logical reasoning. The exam will also include GK and current awareness. As to score high marks in the exam students have to prepare themselves with Sample papers. Candidates need to have excellent knowledge about current awareness for this you need to refer to daily news papers very carefully. There are many books and magazines available for reference in books which students can purchase and practice.

Re: How should a Science student prepare for CLAT?

I recommend the following books for CLAT to my students:
G.K.- Static- Pearson Concise manual is still your best bet. Then comes Arihant and Universal.
Dynamic- Newspapers (especially Indian Express and The Hindu). Also subscribe to some newspapers online.

Logical Reasoning- Buy MK Pandey. Concept building wise, it's the best.

Legal Reasoning- There this one book by Universal on LR. It's pretty much exhaustive.

Maths- RS Aggrawal would do as maths part is basic and you need to mainly improve your speed

English- Wren n Martin and any good grammer book would build a good base.

Other stuff- Subscribe to some magazines like PD or CSR. Prefer PD though. Read newspaper editorials and look out for Supreme Court and High Court judgments on important issues.
    Hope this long post helps.

We've also given the link of a few good websites/blogs on http://www.legaledgetutorials.com/#/...ces/4553586603 and given some practice papers on http://bit.ly/pk6Ppa. Go through it and shoot a mail at legaledge.tutorials@gmail.com for the answer key.

I guess there are some great inputs from few members of this forum. You can also go in for some sort of formal coaching for CLAT preparation e.g. Career Launcher's LST is very popular amongst students. One of my cousin did her coaching from CL Sector 62 center in Noida and she says its pretty good...
