In order to give the exam for IPS officer and for any civil services exam your must be graduation passed out candidates.
Unless and until you not complete your graduation ,you will not be allowed to appear in any of these exams.

At present time you must focus yourself for the study and only study.
It is good to start perparation from now onwards but until and unless you will not get good marks and better results you will not be for appearing in this exam.

The details for this exam is as follows:-

This exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

The educational qualification for giving this exam is graduation in any stream.

The minimum age required for appearing in this exam is 21 years.

The upper age limit for appearing in this exam is 28 years.

However age relaxation is given to the reserved category candidates as per government norms.
The details for it is as follows:-
3 years for the obc candidates.
5 years for the sc/st candidates.
10 years for widows and physically handicapped persons.

Your degree of graduation should be recognized from the state government or from the central government.
Your degree should also be approved from the UGC.
If you will obtain this degree through distance mode then your degree should be approved from the DEC.

There is also limitation in appearing in this exam.
The details for it is as follows as per category wise:-

4 years for GENERAL CANDIDATES.

7 YEARS FOR OBC CANDIDATES.

No limitation for SC/ST CANDIDATES.

criteria for IPS exams
->MUST HAVE MINIMUM OF 55% IN +2..
WHICH STREAM YOU ARE FROM IS NOT IMPORTANT


>HEIGHT-165 CM

->AGE LIMIT 19-28 YEARS

There are 3 stages of exam
-Priminary stage
To have knowledge about marathi is preferreble..
it is objective type
-main exam
-interview

You can take coachings for preparing as civil services are usually tough..
