    Re: IIT-JEE

Before you begin preparation for any exam you need to first of understand what the structure and the pattern of exam. You must have a detailed list of the syllabus. It must include the topics and the various areas to be prepared in it. For the engineering entrance exam you need to basically be prepared in both Physics and Chemistry. Along with that there will be a section on Mathematics. It will be related to the 12th standard portion. You can refer to the previous year papers for the same. If possible go in for training. You must go in for the mock test if possible. It will give you a feel of what the exam is like and also your score compared to the other candidates.

Re: How should I prepare for IIT JEE entrance exam while in class 11th? Which books should be referred?

Its great that you have decided to start from now onwards as some students wait for their 12th to start and then finally end up failing in the JEE battle. Well, to crack JEE you have to do something special, not necessary that you have to be special. Its a myth that only genius students crack it. Actually a little bit of hardwork from your side can help you in gaining some advantage to crack the IIT JEE

To start with you have to choose the books which you will need to refer. I am giving you the names of the books

Physics : HC Verma, and NCERT
    Chemistry : Arihant and NCERT
    Maths : RD Sharma, Arihant

Just refer these books at first. DONT OVERLOAD YOURSELF WITH TONS OF BOOKS!!!. As you mind end up doing nothing at the end of the day.
So start with the above books listed.

Then make a time table and aim to study for few dedicated hours. I have said Dedicated" because its of no use studying 10 hours without any concentration. So focus is important

Rest will go fine if you do the hardwork from your side. You can even join some coaching center to help yourself to understand the concepts

Re: How should I prepare for IIT JEE entrance exam while in class 11th? Which books should be referred?

For clearing IITJEE, you need to devote ample amount of time in studying Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The first thing you should do is clear your basic concepts of all three subjects and then move to a higher level. Regular studies will improve your knowledge and intellect. if you want you can also join some good IITJEE preparation institute. It will help you as a platform for good preparations. Other than this, whenever you study, make notes of them. This will help you in summarizing as well as in revision purposes. You can refer these books for the following subjects:

    MATHEMATICS:
    1.M.L.KHANNA
    2.arihant new pattern

    PHYSICS:
    1.H.C. Verma
    2.Halliday Resnick and Walker

    CHEMISTRY:
    Organic Chemistry: Morrison And Boyd
Physical Chemistry: Peter Atkins, P. Bahadur
    Inorganic Chemistry: J.D. Lee

You should also buy 30 years IIT-JEE previous years' Question Papers By Arihant Publications.

    all the best!!

Its very important for you to start the preparation as soon as possible in fact you are late in the race for the iitjee seat race already, there would be many students who would have started preparing for the exam right from there class 8th onwards ,but even now its not too late start it as soon as possible,it would be better if you join an coaching center to give you an proper guidance and to have an idea of how the other students are preparing and how much time they are donating for the preparation and where you stand in the race .
There are many books which can be followed for the exam ,it all depends on which book your teacher is advising you to follow or which book suits you the most, some of the most famous authors are as follows
    1.MATHS:
    Dasgupta,R.D.sherma,Arihanth publisher books,Thomas and finley,b.s.grewal
    2.PHYSICS:
    H.C.verma,J.c gupta,resnick and Haliday,university physics
    3.chemistry:
    organic:morrison and boyd
    inorganic.l soni
    physical.l tandon

Hi , I think that you should right now focus more on Your 11th standard and after it 12 th standard.
Because these are the basic building blocks of your knowledge level that you will require actually while preparing for IIT's.
However if you can manage time you should start refering some books .
For maths you can refer:- ML khanna, Arihant Differential Calculus, S. L. Loney and RD sharma
For chemistry you can refer :- Physical Chemistry by P. Bahadur , IIT Chemistry by O. P. Agarwal
For Physics you can refer :-Concepts of Physics Vol. I and II by H.C. Verma (Just refer this book. It's a high level book),Problems in General Physics by I. E. Irodov ,
Problems in Physics by Abhay Kumar Singh.
Remember dont try to solve these books at once. Just try to understand the contents initially .

    DEAR STUDENT,
THERE IS A RUMOUR SPREADED ALL AROUND ABOUT THE TOUGHNESS OF IIT JEE, BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I AGREE THE EXAM IS BIT TOUGH BUT THE QUESTIONS ASKED ARE 90% BASED ON SIMPLE BASIC QUESTIONS. SO I RECOMMEND YOU TO CLEAR YOUR BASIC CONCEPTS WELL AND SOLVE AS MANY MCQ AS YOU CAN.

firstly cracking jee is not tha hard as people make you to believe and believe me its not easy too. 2 years are enough to prepare for jee.about the preparation
1 do the ncert perfectly (it sounds a little lame in begining but it is very useful)
2some books physics h c verma resnick halliday (only if you have spare time)
    chemistry p bahudar solomons
    maths tmh
the above books are more than enough dont go for the fancy stuff like irodov its not really worth the time.
last dont think any subject or topic to be lame or bad.

Class 11th concepts help a lot for the preparation so you should properly focus on your 11th first .Use reference books and solve all competitive questions from those. Then go for 12th and do the same. You can solve questions from H.C.Verma . Solve from S.L.Loney's , I.E.Irodov.Get some distance learning program courses .Read some competitve books such as Physics for you etc.
Practice from previous years papers. But in 11th properly follow your syllabus and focus on your concepts.Study for 5-6 hrs daily.
    GOOD LUCK.

    MY DEAR FRIEND

EligibilityThe age limit for sitting the JEE is 25 years. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories, the relaxed age limit is 30 years.

Also, since 2007, candidates have been allowed to take the JEE a maximum of twice. This change was intended to reduce stress on applicants, and to discourage the concept of 'cram schools'. Also since 2007, students selected for admission to an IIT and paid the accepting fee, cannot attempt the examination again in the future.
Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search The Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (popularly known as IIT-JEE or just JEE) is an annual college entrance examination in India. It is used as sole admission criterion by the sixteen Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) as well as other institutes. The examination is organised each year by one of the various IITs, using a round robin rotation pattern. It has a very low admission rate (about 1 in 50 in 2011).

    Hi Friend,

    Educational Qualification

students who is in class 12th and have passed it

A guy who has passed 12 board just one year or the same year of Examination are allowed to take part n Examination.

That means you can give it only two consecutive times only .there should not be any gap

you have to get minimum of 60% in 12 boards.
for SC/ST/PD there's some relaxations upto 5% i.e 55% is the minimum Criteria for these Candidates.

    . Age Limits:

The age limits for appearing in IIT-JEE is 19 years

For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PD categories, age limit is 24 years.

For this Examination you should study throughout the year conceptually.IIT -JEE Exam is totally Conceptual Based , So you can't be Conceptually weak .Books if you want to refer are H.C Verma for Physics and For Chemistry and Mathematics and Chemistry NCERT is the Best book available in the Market .

So prepare well for The Examination .

    Good Luck!!

    HI

THIS is the very exiting papers where lacks of students sitting from all over the INDIA for cracking this.
for getting the success in this exam time managment is concerned, you need to schedule definite timings foe each paticular subject .

basically Self study matters a lot, self study means apart from all other studies, whether you go tution or rest ...the total time that you devote for the study of yourself

SOME OF TIPS I HAVE MENTION FOR YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS ....................

study of Physics: 2 hrs a day self study apart from tutions and school time.

study of chemisrty: 2 hrs a day apart from tution and school timings.

study of Maths: 3 hrs a day apart from tutions and school.

this schedule is only for your self study.

Now in tutions whatever you do daily, go with the quick revision at that very moment after the completion of the topic, in all subjects. Note that this rhythm shoulsd not break any how.

focus on analytical topics rather than theoratical topics.

Please feel free to post as many doubts on our this forum as you can.

    SUCCESS TIPS ------------

    Do continuous effort
    Prepare good Notes
    Have proper guidance
First prepare yourselves mentally for IIT-JEE
    All the best.
