    Hi,
The questions asked can be grouped in to two broad categories Factual and conceptual
Conceptual questions can be handled more effectively if you prepare for mains properly. Objective questions can be answered only if you have a sound conceptual base.

Your preparation should be such that you are thorough in your first optional and also General Studies. This is because You will not get enough time to go for Prelims preparation after your mains.

You should be particular about the subject you choose for Prelims as you will be appearing for Objective type of paper.

For G.K you need to read Newspapers,Watching TV news and of course quiz shows like KBC .

If you select for the Interview stage Book Knowledge is is not enough your mental alertness will also count as they ask questions like:
    >How many steps did you walk up to reach here?
    >What is the colour of the wall behind you?

You should improve your communication skills.

    Good luck.
