Re: How should I get prepared for GATE?

GATE is an exam that tests your fundamentals. Before Before the marathon begins, the Ďrunnerí puts in months, even years, of effort before he actually runs the race. As the saying goes Ė
    get your fundamentals right
    .

Preparing for GATE just requires your 100% mental and physical concentration, commitment and hard work. You need to study Qualitatively and not Quantitatively as GATE paper focuses on your in depth knowledge of subject, your basics, presence of mind during examination etc.

Here are some tips which may help you prepare well :

    > First go through the syllabus of GATE. Try to cover complete syllabus. If not possible expertise in what ever portion of syllabus you practice.
    > Try preparing notes after reading every chapter/topic. This may initially take some time but will help you while revising before paper.
    > Do remember that GATE is completely objective question based test. Most of time solving objective questions is tricky. So you have to think very quickly .
    > Group study is one of the best ways of preparation. Divide sections/topics between you and your partner and have a brief session on topic from your friend before you actually start topic. This will save your time and efforts and will improve your and your partnerís understanding on the top.
    > Try and solve previous year question papers. This will help you know the examination pattern and build up your confidence.

So all the Best.. Hard work will reap you better results.....
    REGARDS!!!!!!!!!

Re: How should I get prepared for GATE?

As GATE exam is highly competitive exam, you should prepare for this exam really well. You should be familiar with the general pattern and structure of this exam and start your preparation on that basis. If you are interested you can join some coaching institutes to prepare for this exam. You should refer model question papers and other standard books as part of your studies. You should try to cover the entire syllabus related to this exam. Try to prepare notes at the end of each lesson. This will be helpful during last minute revision. You can attain good results only through constant practice. Hence, you should try to work out as many model question papers as possible. You should analyze the subject areas in which you are weak and should focus more in those areas.
