GTU stands for Gujarat Technological University. This University is located in Ahmedabad. There are many GTU colleges spread across different cities of Gujarat. The GTU offers many UG and PG level courses to eligible students. The university offers Bachelor of Engineering courses in various streams. As to be eligible for join a Bachelors course in the GTU candidates need to have +2 or its equivalent qualification. As you have a diploma you will be eligible to apply for the Bachelors in engineering program. This is a 4 year long course and the candidates will also have to qualify in the entrance exam. The GTU Entrance test is the GCET which is held every year.

Since you are a diploma holder, you can join the Gujarat Technological University through Lateral entry scheme. For getting admissions within the University, you have to attend the Lateral entry exams. You should have completed the diploma course in order to apply for the test. Also, you should have done the course from a certified institute. In addition; you must have secured 60% aggregate marks in the pre-requisite exam. Once you clear the lateral entry test, you can apply for graduate programs in engineering. So many institutes and engineering colleges come under the GTU. You can seek for admissions within any of the colleges.

But how the admission process held? last year in addmission process of year 2010 last semister mean result of fifth semister was count.. so now in addmission process will be held in 2011 which marks are count ?

GTU concern with more than 200 colleges

minimum requirement for degree courses is 10+2
and if you completed you 10+2 and you want to apply for Bachelor Degree then there is no entrance exam but based on your 12th score you get admission in college which is affiliated by GTU

but if you want to apply for master degree then its necessary to give entrance exam i.e. GCET(Gujarat Common Entrance Test) and bsed on your GCET score you will get admission

As per the announcement made by the Gujarat Technical University (GTU) the Forms for diploma to degree courses are now available. The forms are to be accepted till July 7.

There are more than 8,999 seats in diploma to degree courses in Gujarat. From this year, the students of BSc in Maths are also now eligible to apply for degree engineering cources. While in last year there were 10% seats reserved for this, this year 20% seats are reserved which is double.

I have passed my sixth semester of Diploma Civil Engineering with 76% but I got ATKT in fifth semester (One Subject) whose exam is given by me, till date the result is not declared and the procedure of admission for Diploma to Degree Engineering is also completed during the date of 07/07/2011 to 17/07/2011. If I pass my ATKT exam of fifth semester, Will I get admission for degree engineering? If yes, Show me the detail procedure for admission.

to get secure your admission from diploma to degree course in GTU-GUJARAT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY , you should have to get minimum 60% in your diploma course...then you have to apply form to get lateral entry from diploma to degree course...then wait for counselling of admission for diploma to degree course in GTU...

and should not have any backlog pending in diploma, if here is any ,you need to clear it first

After completing diploma you will have to appear in Lateral Entry Test(LEET) oi take direct admission in B.Tech second year
LEET is a state level exam and is based on diloma
Syllabus for LEET is diffrent in diffrent in every college.
You must achieve a good rank in LEET to get direct admission in B.T4ech second year.

As you want to get admission in Degree course in GTU after completing your Diploma course,so you need to qualify the Lateral Entry in Engineering Test(LEET) for that.LEET is the Entrance Test,which will make you eligible for admission in directly second year of Engineering degree.To appear in the LEET you must have to fulfill the eligibility conditions.

The eligibility conditions for LEET are:

-You must have completed your Diploma from a recognized Institute or any State Board of Technical Education.
