Common Proficiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course.

While you are applying online you have two choices:

1.Apply and pay online

2.Apply online and pay offline.

CPT exam is held twice a year with 6 months gap - in june and december.
June exam was on 19th.
December exam will be on 18th.

You have to visit the website icaiexam.icai.org.
There you are given complete instructions to follow.
You can fill in the form , download it , take a printout and send to the office.
OR you can fill and send online and pay using VISA or MASTER Card.

You are eligible if you have completed your class 12.

Common Proficiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course. A 10th Passed student can register for CPT Course by filling in the prescribed registration form along with the requisite fee. A student who has passed higher qualifications than 10th class such as B.Com, M.Com, LL.B., ICWA, CS, MBA is also, in the first instance, to appear and pass CPT Examination to join the Chartered Accountancy Course.

->The CS course is provided by the The Institute of Company Secretaries of India” (ICSI).

->Stages to be a Company Secretary

The student who would like to join the Course after 10+2 has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e.

1)Foundation Programme
2)Executive Programme
3)Professional Programme

In addition, the student has to undergo Practical Training for about 15 months which a student may opt to start after passing the Executive Programme.

->The Student who would like to join the Course after passing the Graduation has to undergo two stages of the Company Secretaryship i.e.

1)Executive Programme
2)Professional Programme

->Besides, the student has to undergo Practical Training for about 15 months.

->Foundation Programme which is of eight months duration can be pursued by 10+2 pass students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream.Executive
