Re: How to pursue M.Tech after B.Sc in Biotechnology?

To pursue a M.Tech degree it is a must that the candidate must have completed B.Tech degree. A candidate from a B.Sc background cannot directly pursue M.Tech. In such cases the candidate needs to first complete M.Sc. After completing M.Sc the candidate needs to appear for the entrance exams. So you need to first pursue M.Sc course and then appear for the GATE exam. You can however begin preparation for the GATE exam rightaway. It is a objective type paper in the area of your specialisation. You need to have in dept knowledge in all the areas. Also be careful as there is negative marking. You need to be prepared for 3 hour paper. So solve as many previous year papers as possible.

Students with a degree in engineering stream can apply for M.Tech in any colleges in India. The M.Tech admission is carried out through an all India entrance exam known as GATE. As to be eligible to appear in GATE candidates need to have an M.Sc or B.Tech. Students should also have secured marks above 60%. With a B.Sc you are not eligible to appear in GATE. You must complete your M.Sc as to be eligible. Try to secure more than 60% of marks in the masters also. You must also try to score good scores in the GATE. This will ensure you an admission in any good colleges in India.

you should go for msc biotechnology , then qualify gate exam with a high percentile about 99 to ensure your placement in institute of national repute for mtech

hello, you are doing b.sc. biotechnology and you want to do m.tech after this. i think the best option after your course is m.sc. biotechnology. anyway you are interested in doing m.tech. , so you have to write GATE ( graduate aptituade test in engineering) exam. you have to qualify in that exam in order to do m.tech. based on your rank, you will get admission in different colleges.

Thumbs up Re: How to pursue M.Tech after B.Sc in Biotechnology?

No, B.sc graduates are not eligible to pursue M.tech. You better do M.sc, after that you are eligible to M.tech through entrance test.
    Good luck.
