In order to become a psychologist it is a must that you pursue psychology during 12th standard. This is in order to get admission to the bachelors course. It is not clear whether you have completed you 12th standard with which specialisation. Only after completing your bachelors course can you go in for a specialisation in any area of interest. It is advisable to work while pursuing your masters course. This will help you in pursuing a PHd. There are a lot of institutes in the country offering courses in this area like the Amity Institute of Psychology, Kasturba Medical College, Indian Institute of Psychology and Research in Bangalore, Punjab University. You can check out with the universities near to you for courses offered. The fees and the entrance exam will vary from university to university.

For joining a bachelor program in Psychology one needs to have pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with biology (will be preferred). At the graduate level a student can opt for Psychology as an Honors subject. This is available in most of the universities in India. After the completion of graduation, students can go for higher studied in MA and M.Sc. Students can select courses in Psychology, Social work or Counseling. These specializations can only be pursued at the PG level or at the doctoral level which is M.Phil or Ph.D. As you go higher the courses will have more emphasis on to research. University of Delhi, Bangalore University, MG University, University of Calicut, University Of Madras are some of the universities offering all these courses. There are many numbers of institutions under these universities.

1 You have to complete your graduation in which one subject is psychology

2 After graduation you have to go for Post graduation in Psychology . Remember that you must have to score minimum 55 % marks otherwise your PG is not beneficial for you.

3 Now you are eligible to appear in Ph.d entrance exam from any recognized university.

    BEST OF LUCK
