IAS stands for Indian administrative services. Candidates are recruited for this service and other
prestigious services on Indian goverment like IPS and IFS through civil services examination conducted
by Union public service commission every year. The eligibility criterion for civil services exam is a
graduation degree in any discipline through a recognised instutute of India. So i think you are at a
very early stage where you don't need to put any efforts now. It is good that you have made your mind
for becoming a IAS officer. But right now you should focus on getting good marks in 10 th standard.
After 10th you should focus on selecting a stream of intrest and score good marks in 12th board. Once
you are out of school, you need to take graduation degree. It is at this time that you can start making
efforts for civil services examination preparation. From the first year of your graduation you should gradually
side by side prepare for civil services exams. But right now just focus on your schooling as it is the foundation
of your career.Right now what you can do best is to explore knowledge about civil services, read some competition
magzines like Competition success review and believe firmly that one day you will crack the civil services exams.
