Thumbs up Re: How to move into Film Direction domain after Long Experience in Corporate Industry as a Senior Network Administrator in IBM?

    Ans:

** Films are a part in our life, especially Indians are fascinating about films

** Film director is the driver of the Film

** We don't require any qualifications to become director except creativity.

** But I mist say one thing your experience in IT Industry will not work here, both are completely opposite fields

** To become a director you should have some basic knowledge about this field

** In India there are some good Institutes which offering various programs in Film and TV related fields

    >>Film and Television Institute of India
    >> SRFTI--Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute
    >> Whistling Woods International Film Academy
    >> RAFT--Ramoji Academy of Film and Television

** All the above are the best Institutes in India

** All the Above Institute are offering Film Directors programs along with Film Editing, Script Writing, Choreography, acting etc...,

** All the institutes will give admissions in limited numbers

    >> Film and Television Institute of India (Pune Film School)

    website: www.ftiindia.com/

    >>SRFTI--Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute

    website: www.srfti.gov.in/

    >> Whistling Woods International Film Academy

    website: www.whistlingwoods.net/

    >>RAFT--Ramoji Academy of Film and Television

    website: raft.ramojifilmcity.com/

** All institutes will conduct entrance exams twice in a year, write the entrance exam

** After you qualifying in exam you suppose to have an interview after you clearing that you can join in Institute

** After completing your director's degree, you will not get any offers so you have to join as Assistant Director in any project and proof your self

** Then you will get offers from producers

** Really Indian Film Industry is in deep trouble now, India need a talented Film Directors, many of directors are copying so many scenes from Hollywood, I hope you will not join with them

    All the Best

To get into Film Direction, it'll be better if you take up a direction course from a film school. That will really help. I'd recommend you to do it from Digital Academy - The Film School as they have some really amazing faculties. For more info, check here: http://on.fb.me/fbenroll

Hi dude , superb option !!!

Film direction is an upcoming and popular career option, but to get into film direction , you not only need a passion for filmmaking but also the skill for it.direction is really all about managing various aspects of cinema.

Institutes that provide professional training in filmmaking are:
    • FTII in Pune which is the most lauded film school in India
    • Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata
    • Foundation Institute for Learning Media or FILM in Delhi
    • Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International in Mumbai

“For someone who has always been amazed by how good everything looks on the big screen, coming to a film set will be a real revelation” says a famous dorector !

Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos on the sets the director will always look for that perfect shot. Filmmaking is after all a highly risky but also rewarding profession

    All the best !
