IES stands for Indian Engineers Services
After completing B.Tech or M.Sc a candidate can apply for IES exam. The exam will be conducted to only the specific branch candidates only
In B.Tech the candidates must have completed either Mechancial, Electrical, Electronics or Civil engineering only
In M.Sc the candidates eligible are Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering
The age of the candidate must be in 21 - 30 years only
Along this the upper age relaxation is given for reserved classes i.e., for OBC it is 3 years and SC, ST is 5 years
There is also restrictions regarding the number of times writing the exam, it is also given based on the caste category only
OC category - 4 times
OBC - 7 times
SC, ST - there is no such restrictions
