    In IAS exam in main exam you should choose two compulsory subjects, totally eight papers are there in main exam. if you choose the subjects what you studied in your graduation it will easy for you.

    There are 2 papers in UPSC CSP exam, one is general studies which is common to
    all of the students and other will be optional subjects which we have to choose.

    candidate has to choose two subjects from a list of 25 optional subjects. Following are the not allowed combinations in the UPSC syllabus-

    Hi

    Normally one should select the optional,you are selected at least studied till in the graduate level.
    The science and engineering students take up subjects like history,sociology,anthropology,geography,political sciences,psychology and public administration services.

    Those are all the optional subjects.You can study those subjects to spend more than 4-5 hrs.

    Subject combinations are not allowed by the UPSC for IAS exam:

    -Political and international relations and public administration
    -Commerce and management
    -Anthropology and sociology
    -Maths and statistics
    -Agriculture and animal history and veterinary science
    -Management and public administration
    -Animal husbandry 7 veterinary science and medical science
    -Any two branches of engineering
    -Combinations of 2 literature's.

    as we all know following is the 3 steps you have to follow to become an IAS officer
    1.preliminary written test
    2.final written test
    3.personal interview

    1.the syllabus for the preliminary or CSAT(civil services aptitude test)



    2.final examination is the subjective one having following optional(one to choose)



    Choosing your optional
    Actually choosing your optional is the biggest task for you as an aspirant of being an IAS officer
    choose as your graduation specialization.
    though you may say papers like social science,history are easier in the sense maximum no of people chosen per year are from these optional subjects.

    Hi,

    To become an IAS Officer you need to appear for the Civil Services Admission test (CSAT) Conducted by the UPSC Board.

    IAS is abbreviated as Indian Administrative service and the Exam is conducted by UPSC(Union public Service Commission). The Notifications about the exams are given in the employment newspapers or updated in the UPSC website. To apply for the exams you can procure the forms online in the UPSC website or from the nearest head post offices located in your city. The Exam is divided into 2 phases The Preliminary phase and the Main exam.

    Eligibility:
    • You must be a graduate from A Recognized University
    • Even Final Year Graduates are eligible to appear for the exam
    • Your age must be 21 to 30 years in case you are from General Category.
    Age Relaxation For OBC is 3 years.
    Age Relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.

    Exam pattern:

    As i have told you that the exam is divided into 2 phases like wise the fist phase is the Preliminary phase which consist of 2 papers and carries 200 marks each. The Duration of each paper is about 2 hours. If you get qualified in the prelims then you can appear for the Main exam. The Subject can be chosen based on your Graduation.

    There are 2 papers in UPSC CSP exam, one is general studies which is common to
    all of the students and other will be optional subjects which we have to choose.
    1. Agriculture Management
    2. Animal Husbandry
    3. Vetinary Science
    4. Mathematics
    5. Anthropology
    6. Mechanical Engineering
    7. Botany
    8. Medical Science
    9. Chemistry
    10. Philosophy
    11. Civil Engineering
    12. Physics
    13. Commerce & Accountancy
    Normally one should select the optional,you are selected at least studied till in the graduate level.

    There are some selection procedure such as:

    Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recruit the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

    According to the Eligibility Criteria:

    Flying branch as pilot will be selected through Short Service Commission for men & women

    Age:

    i) 19 to 23 years
    ii) 19 to 25 years for CPL Holders which is issued by DGCA ,India.

    Upper age limit is relaxed up to 25 years.

    Marital Status:

    You have to be Single.

    Nationality:

    You have to be Indian

    Gender:

    Men and women can apply for the examination.

    Educational Qualifications


    1:You have to be Graduate of 3 years course in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

    or

    You should have a degree of BE / B Tech of 4 years course from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

    2. Final year students can also apply,having no backlog and minimum 60 % aggregate marks in the previous year's semesters.

    Generally,the notice is published in the month of March and September every year.
