Re: How many seats are available in IBPS?

It depends. Every time IBPS conducts from 19 banks. So, you can't guess. But the estimation will be about 25000 posts every year!! You can guess how much demand is there for these posts these days.

It's just because of JOB security. Bank jobs are safer than any other jobs in India. They don't have any recession time like software jobs, good pay etc may be the reason for huge in demand for these posts.. Here are the eligibility criteria for clerk posts..

    Education eligibility:

You must have 60% in 10 th or 55% in inter or pass in degree. But it's better to have more than 55% in your degree. Because at the time of recruitment most of the banks are allowing who have 55% or above.

    Age limits:

    For clerks:
For general category : It's between 18 to 28 years.
    Upto 33 years for SC/ST
    Upto 31 years for BC
Upto 38 years for Physically Handicapped(PH) and
Upto 33 years for ex service men

    PO's
    Upto 35 years for SC/ST
    Upto 33 years for BC
Upto 40 years for Physically Handicapped(PH) and
Upto 35 years for ex service men

    Exam pattern:

    For PO's:

    For clerks

There will be Negative Marking/ penalty (one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks) for wrong answers. Each question carries one mark and there is negative (1/4) marking too. After examination and publishing results, IBPS will provide all applicants with a CWE score card.

Ibps clerk written exam was filled on the basis 10th and 12th pass candidate but
"Bank of Barodara" Advertised his 2000 clerk vacancies for Graduate /Bachelor degree holder................Why?

    - IBPS only conducts the written section.
    - This exam is known as Common Written Exam(CWE) and this is conducted for ninteen banks of public sector.
    - This exam is for qualifying and also score more marks so that candidates can get lead during personal interview.
    - IBPS will then provide Score Cards to all the eligible candidates.
    - With the help of Score Card candidates can apply for the 19 banks interview.

There is no cut-off in the number of seats in IBPS exam.It can not be predicted
