There are two types of bank tests.

• clerical exam
• PO exam

For clerical:

• You should study +2 from the board of your locality and should maintain 60% aggregate.
• You must not posses any distance in education and also any backlogs.

For PO:

• You should not have any backlogs.
• Should complete b.tech from reputed university.
• Age limit should cross 28.

For Bank PO Exam:

* You need to passed in your graduation Examination in any discipline from a recognised University, There is no minimum Percentage eligibility criteria to apply for Bank PO Examination.

* Your age should between 21 to 30 years then you are eligible to apply for Bank PO examination, the Upper age relaxation is only applicable for SC, ST, OBC and other reserved Category Candidates.

* For other banks You need to scored minimum 55% Marks to 60% Marks in your graduation examination, For ICICI bank you need to scored minimum 55% marks in your graduation examination.

For Bank Clerical Exam:

* You need to have good agregate 60% in your intemediate as well as ssc

If you have done bachelors then you can opt for both clerical grade or PO.
PO exam is tough.
For clerical grade 40% marks are required in bachelors.

The eligibility criteria for these exams differs from bank to bank. Generally a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in 10+2 is required by most of the banks. But some banks reduce this limit to 55%. Do read carefully the advertisement about these exams and asses the eligibility criteria given by different banks. If you qualify then only send an application.

The marks required will depend on the bank where you plan to apply. In most PSU's no minimum mark will be mentioned in the notification. Even in the common written test which conducted jointly by 19 public sector banks there is no mention on the minimum marks required. For banks like ICICI the minimum required is 55%. They look at the aggregate score of the candidates. The banks will select the candidates based on the score in the test for the GD and interview round. Whilst shortlisting the candidates the banks will look at the academic record of the candidates. So preference will be given to candidates who have a good academic record.

To enroll for the common bank exams they don't have any minimum percentage of marks
to enroll for.So you are eligible to appear in the BANK exams.There are a total of 19
public sector banks participating in COMMON BANK EXAM.The list is given below.
The Common written test will be conducted on September 18, 2011.

Eligibility:

1)Age to be between 20 yrs to 30 yrs.
2)A candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

The test consists of Objective & Descriptive papers for a total of 250 marks.For every wrong answer in objective test, 0.25 would be reduced as negative mark.

Application: Fee of Rs.50 (SC/ST) or Rs.450 (others) for common test have to be paid online (credit/ debit cards) or through NEFT payment at any branch of banks mentioned above before July 30. After obtaining payment receipt, applicants can submit their application online at www.ibps.in for which you would receive a registration number & password in email/SMS. Eligibility for the PO Examination :

Candidates get recruited at 2 levels in the banks :-
clerical level and
officer level .

The Reserve Bank of India conducts tests for three types of entry level positions:

Clerical grade : Grade A officers
Grade B officers
The entry point for clerical staff is in the cash department as examiners of coins and notes.
They are promoted to the next grade when they successfully clear the relevant examinations after 5-10 years of service.

There is an All India Exam conducted for class 1 posts.
Graduates, Post Graduates, CA's, MBA's in the 21-26 years of age group are eligible.

The examination is in parts.

Paper 1 is a written test comprising of General Mental Ability (Objective type).
Paper 2 is a subjective one which has English Essays/Comprehension/Precise writing etc.
Paper 3 is on Economics and Social problems.

Eligibility :

Anyone in the age group of 18-26 years having a degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate is eligible for appearing in the written test .
