    Hello,

It depends on you and only you that how much able to grab and store your study in your brain.Every student consist different storing capacity, concentrations and ability to understand and writing speed. There is no such a formula to score 95% in board exams and IIT!!!
Just read carefully and learn well;go through proper syllabus;make notes on every chapters specially maths and physics(wiil be helpful in engineering).

i can suggest you some books, consult them for better result...

    Physics----> NCERT.
    Chem--->K.L.CHUGH.
    Maths----> S.N.DEY,NCERT.

Wish you have a bright future.Good Luck.

you now studying in science stream with maths subject and want to go for engineering.
It's nice that you hard working for iit also with reading famous books.
now if you want to crack IIT-JEE,then you have very heavy burden day to day because you have to also prepare for your board exam.so if you want to crack IIT-JEE with your self ,then it's so hard and may be possible you can not crack it even do very much hard work.and may be affect to your board exam.then it's very much loss.
so now a time, you have to IIT-JEE prepare, but don't forge about preparation for board exam.because it's very much important.
my friend,i not now discourage to you.but that's very much possibility and occurs for number of students.
so,if you want to pass your time for IIT-JEE,then you have to prepare maximum 2 hours.other reading time you have to pass with your board exam preparation at least 5 to 6 hours.then you can get so nice percentage in board exam and get a admission in good famous colleges even you not crack IIT-JEE.

    best of luck...

Re: How many hours per day should I study to get above 95% in board exams and IIT selection in first attempt?

Heyy dear Aspirant. Its good to see your goal. You have planned your goal very high.Only the making goal is not sufficient for the Success. But it is the primary step for getting the success.

First you need to make your time table.Because having a well planned Time table is more good then NO TIME TABLE.

As you are telling that you are in your +2.So you have very less time for the preparation of your entrance examination. In this time you have to equally maintain your both the courses.I mean you have next year the Board examination as well as the IIT entrance examination.

Do you know the IIT examination is the most toughest entrance examination for the under graduation course. It is having no. 1 ranking for the toughing quality in the world.

As you have asked here the time duration for the studies. So here i would like to tell that First you need to sleep not less then 6 hours and not more then 8 hours.Sleeping of 6 hours is more then sufficient for you.And you know very well that there are three main subject => Physics , Chemistry & Maths. So you have to give minimum 3 hours to each subject.I will suggest you that you can give the 2 hours daily in Chemistry but 4 hours in maths.

You have to study according to your capacity.I mean after each hour you must take the break of 5 to 10 minutes for drinking water ad other work. You have to strictly study till the complete hour.Don't go anywhere in your study time duration.

In physics and Maths section as many as you solve your question that will be very helpful for you for the examination. You read the theory first from Your material then go for the problems. If you face any trouble for solving the question then don't get frosted read the theory twice of that section then solve the problem.

There are three section in the chemistry division.

    • Inorganic Chemistry.

    • Organic Chemistry.

    • Physical Chemistry.

For the Inorganic chemistry You have to remember each thing again and again.because in this section each thing is to be learn by the student.
For the Organic Chemistry you have to solve as many as possible the Reactions. You first make the chart of All Name rexn then Other raction. And practice them. For the Physical Chemistry You have To study the Theory and solve the problem for the practice.Because practice make man perfect.

For the Study material , you have enough books .But i will suggest you to purchase the Last 33 years book of IIT question. And solve them for you good preparation. But don't touch this book now because you will be frosted.Solve this Book after your all the theory portion I will suggest you solve this book after The December.

Other thing for the preparation that you can join the any test series of any reputed coaching Institute. I don't know from which City/state you belong. But If you have Internet Facility then you can join it.It will be very helpful for you to know the question quality of competitive exam.

so good luck and do your best

    Regards,
    JSD

Thumbs up Re: How many hours per day should I study to get above 95% in board exams and IIT selection in first attempt?

see its not for how many hours a day a students study its all about what and how much he studies in less time..
if he has a good grasping power than he can do his +2 very easily where as about iit its all about clearing the concepts and basic and time management..
on an average 5 to 6 hours of sincere study is more than enough for him to score good marks in both examination...

    My friend,

The matter is you should manage your timetable so as to manage your time for your particular main subjects.

The subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Computer should be managed equally
and rest of the subjects like English, Hindi, Geography, etc can be done from Sunday to Sunday .

    Prepare your time table.

There is no persons who can give you the exact time limit or duration to carck the entrances exam like IIT.
One things you must take into account that there is no short cuts methods which can be applied in order to get success in your life.
Only your hard work and self determination will help to get your success.

Basically two things which are very important for getting success in IIT-JEE
    These are:-

    @HARD WORK
    @PROPER PLANNING

In order to get 95% marks follow these steps.
    These are:-

    >>plan your time well.
    >>choose a good institute or a good teacher and keep full faith on your teacher.
    >>Formulate your plan and convey it to your teachers.
    >>Time management.

I will suggest you buying number creates confusions in students minds thus it will better for you to select high level of books such as Arihant/Pradeep publications.
Apart from these there are several magazines published on IIT,AIEEE monthly.
It includes previous years questions papers and various news related to these exams .
One of the best magazine among them is IIT Buzzword .
It is published monthly and it will cost you Rs 75 .

So buy it and read i carefully.

As far the time to study is concerned you must study at-least 8 to 10 hours daily including revisions also.
Then only you will able to clear your concepts and able to solve questions related to that topics.

dear friend, i can under stand your exciteNess in your message. But my simple request is that rather than thinking about the amount of time required just enjoy the subject . Know each and every line with your heart rather than brain. You can definitely see the change. Well coming to your question of duration it is better to have a planned time table also to bifurcate your subjects in less number of days. If you can plan your time table in perfect way you can easily crack any competitive exam in first attempt itself:-):-) regards

    hi friend...

First of all, you should understand that for cracking any examination , you should have dire determination to succeed in the exam. If you have that, automatically hard work & luck will fall in place. The preparation for IIT is not easy but is neither not so tough. All you need in regular dedicated progress in the right direction .

    have good luck

    Dear Friend,
You asked a very nice Question.
Many students think that cracking IIT in first attempt is not possible.
But this is entirely WRONG concept.
A Student must mentally prepare himself that he can get into IITs very easily.
What ever learn ,learn by heart.
FIX YOUR TARGET:TO CRACK IIT ALWAYS THINK YOU CAN.
Never think that you cannot do this.Always Be Positive.
When we enter preparation part its not studying long hours or burning midnight oil.
Whatever you learn understand the concept involved in it.
Better maintain a book in which you note down all the important points you notice.
This book will be help full during exam time. You can refer this before exam.

On The other hand for your board exam you need to strictly follow your Board Books Preferred by your board. If you prepare whole heartedly with strong determinitation you can secure "MORE THAN 95%"

Regarding the books to be used :
    >you better understand the concept in CBSE text books
    >The books you mentioned above are pretty good books through which you can understand the
    concept very easily.
    >For MATHS you may also use NEW PATTERN IIT JEE published by arihanth.

The number of hours depends on your ability to understand the concept.
If you dont under stand a concept try reading it twice or thrice or ask your tutor and discuss about it.

    Dear aspirant,

--> You are having sufficient books for preparation to Board Exams to score above 95%.

--> If you go through these books thoroughly throughout the year, then definitely you will get good marks in XII Board Exams.

--> But for selection in IIT-JEE exam, you will have to solve some typical questions.

--> These questions will be based on the syllabus of CBSE/ICSE Board Syllabus.

--> You may get these questions at the end of Reference Books like RD Sharma, O.P. Tondon, Pradeep Physics, etc.

--> Also, you must solve previous year question papers of IIT-JEE exam.

--> You may download them from official site of IIT-JEE i.e. http://jee.iitd.ac.in/

--> However, JEE Advanced Exam will be commenced in place of IIT-JEE exam.

--> One of the best book for preparation of IIT-JEE exam is :

13 Years' IIT JEE Solved Papers (2000-2012) (Paperback)
    by D. C Pandey, R. P Singh, S . C Agarwal
    Publisher: Arihant (2012)
    Rs. 342
