Re: How many branches are available in B.Tech?

    Hai,

There are lot of branches available in B.Tech. In the olden days there are only few streams available to do engineering.
If any one is interested to do engineering in the past generation then they have to select any of the selected stream based on their area of interest from limited options(streams).
But this culture came to an end now..As the generation varies the courses for engineering also increased a lot.

Some of the most demanded courses in engineering from past are:-

Computer Science and Engineering:-This stream mainly deals wit programming, database, networking related concepts. This course is purely computer based o related stream.

Electronics and Communication Engineering:-This stream mainly deals with how to design electronic circuits using components like resistors, capacitors, diodes etc..,
This is purely electronics related stream where you can learn concepts like control systems, digital signal processing, wave propagation etc..,

Electrical and Electronics Engineering:- This stream mainly deals with the application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.
It mainly deals with the problems associated to power systems, power transmission etc..,

Information Technology:-This is similar to computer science and Engineering stream. You will learn almost all the concepts similar.

Civil Engineering:-This stream mainly deals with the designing, Construction, maintenance of a building.

Chemical Engineering:-This stream mainly deals with the chemicals and raw materials where you learn that how to use these chemicals to make our lives more comfortable.

Mechanical Engineering:-This steam deals with how to design, manufacture, analyze and using the heat and mechanical power to run machines.

Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering:-This stream involves the design, construction and repairing any aircraft or flight etc..,
Aeronautical is a branch came from aerospace engineering. You can even have knowledge on rockets, crafts, jet planes etc..,

Industrial Engineering:- Mainly they designs integrated systems of people, machines, materials, energy and information.

Some other newly developed or raising streams are:-

    • Applied Engineering
    • Biological Engineering
    • Mechatronics
    • Nuclear Engineering
    • Agricultural Engineering
    • Nano Engineering
    • Petroleum Engineering

The courses specified above are the best and very demanded courses at present scenario.

Each course has its own importance and career opportunities.

It is your choice to select your stream in engineering because for example if you select any stream which has more demand but you are not interested in that zone then your career will be in troublesome position.

So select the stream based on you area of interest i.e.., if you are interested in programming or computer/software side then opt CSE/IT.

You have huge opportunities if you select CSE/IT.You are eligible to work in many MNC companies like:-

    • TCS(Tata Consultancy Services)
    • CTS (Cognizant)
    • Infosys
    • IBM etc..,
    • as a Programmer
    • Designer
    • Technical Analyst
    • Testing
    • Supporting sector
    • Networking side
    • Database manage/administrator etc..,

If you are interested in core sector or to become scientist or to work as sub-engineer/government job then select ECE/EEE where you have huge opportunities.

Some of the government or core opportunities for you are:-

    ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization)
DRDO (Defence Research and Development Oganization)
    BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited)
ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited)
    BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited)
    Thermal Power stations
    Steel plants etc..,

If you are interested at construction side or designing building sector then opt civil where you have huge opportunities.

Some of the job opportunities are:-

    • PEB Design Manager
    • Sales and Marketing Manager
    • Estimator and Planning Instructor
    • Lead Engineer
    • Diagnostics Engineer
    • Operations Manager
    • Construction Manager etc..,

If you are interested at mechanical zone i.e.., manufacturing, designing and developing motors or else then opt mechanical.

Some of the opportunities you can become as:-

    • Engine Engineer
    • Design Engineer
    • Structural and Payload Design Engineer
    • Plant Mechanical Engineer
    • Senior Field Professional etc..,

So select any of the above course based on your area of interest.

    All the best..
