First of complete your graduation. You have two options available after graduation. The first one is appear for the UPSC exam. You will need to appear for the IRS exam. If you clear this you will be eligible to join as the Asstt Commissioner of Customs. Also it depending on how you fair in the interview if found suitable you can also be posted as Expert Appraiser or Superintendent. The other option is to appear for the SSC exam. By clearing this exam you will be eligible to be a Preventive Officers of Customs. For both these options you need to not only fair well in the written exam but also in the interview round. There will also be a physical fitness test. You need to clear all these levels to be finally posted.

To get into the customs department you have to qualify the civil service exams like UPSC or SSC. The IRS exams conducted by UPSC have to be cleared for joining as Assistant Commissioner of Customs. After a competitive interview you will be posted as an Expert Appraiser or Superintendent by UPSC. The SSC will appoint you as Preventive Officers of Customs after qualifying objective type exam and interview. For taking these exams you have to complete graduation with at least 50% from a recognized institute. Since you have only passed 12th you cannot attend the exam. You ca apply for the job after graduation. There are some criteria specified by each state for one to join as a customs officer.

You can join custom department by exam conduct by ssc.for officer post you must have completed graduation.but since your are 12th you can become clerk or lower divission clerk in custom department. for this post,department give the notification in the employment news.see the news and go for the exam.
