Yes, this is possible. Here a student does not need to study 11th and 12th classes.
Instead of them, the student goes for diploma in the required course.
This is undertaken right after one's 10th class.

Diploma options are the most sought after one's for the engineering courses.
Wherein, students after their 10th, go for diploma in their engineering stream of choice, and after completing the diploma they can directly join the 2nd year of B.E.

Here, the student needs not worry for the studies of the 1st year, which the student might think he/she has missed.
This is because that portion is well covered in one's diploma, wherein instead of the general subjects (same as the subjects till 10th) that are studies in +2, the B.E basics are taught.

hii , to get into the engineering through the lateral entry scheme you need the cet exam conducted by the kea.you will get into the second year of the engineering through the lateral entry scheme.There willbe separate counselling for you for more information about this you need to go to the ,http://www.kea.kar.nic.in.you will be having counselling and there you need to selcet the seat.

You must have atleast 60%marks in diploma to get direct admisssion and should not have any backlog pending in diploma, if there is any you will have to clear it out first.

After completing diplma you will have to appear in Lateral Entry Test(LEET) to take direct admission in B.Tech seond year.
Syllabus for LEET exam is diffrent for every board/university.
Note: All colleges in india don't give admission through LEET, so see to it that the university / college you are applying for B.Tech second year. gives admission through LEET or not.

You can get admission directly in Second year after completing Diploma if there is seat vacant in the engineering branches. But it happen in most of the cases that there are lot of seat is going vacant in every branch so if you are doing diploma then you have very good chance to do the engineering.
In the engineering first you will find the vacant seat on any organisation website and then apply the application form and then they will decide the selection procedure.

after diploma there are CAP rounds which are done by the director of technical education
you have to take part in those rounds and give the names of the colleges which you want
there are total 4 rounds and you can take admissions in the college whichever is alotted to you
the colleges are given on merit basis

>>You can go go for lateral entry , you will be directly admitted into second year of engineering. but for this you have to appear in lateral entry entrance examination which is a state level base examination. if you are able to secure good position in this examination then you will be able to take admission in engineering college of your own state. it will save your one year. i think it is better for you. but IITs have no lateral entry scheme. so you can not take admission in IIT through lateral entry.

>>If you go for regular entry then you have to appear in engineering entrance examination just like after 12 pass. if you can secure good position then you will be admitted in 1st year of engineering through counseling. but the competition is very high here and also it will take one more year to complete your engineering. but through this you may take admission in IIT if you appear in IIT JEE or you may take admission in other engineering college throughout the India if you appear in AIEEE or you may take admission in your own state if you appear in state level base engineering entrance examination.
So go for lateral entry exam and get direct admission into engineering second year.

The lateral entry exam is nothing but the E-CET , you must acquire a good score in E-CET so that you will get a seat in good college .
The prescribed application form along with instruction booklet containing information regarding eligibility criteria, syllabi etc., for the common entrance test can be obtained in person on payment of Rs. 300/- from all the Main Post Offices in a particular area region .
But You shouldn't have any backlog subjects in your Diploma course .
Once you are eligible you can get into any stream which are existing in Engineering .
The different streams available in Engineering are :

Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
