Indian Engineering Service exam is conducted by upsc every year once.This exam is conducted to intake qualified engineers for Government sector in different departments.

Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Service exam:
Education qualification:
Candidate should minimum graduation degree in Engineering from a Mechanical/Civil/Electric Stream.
Age limit:
Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

Indian Engineering Service exam notification for this year:
Issue of application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012.
Exam will held on 15th June 2012.

IES ( Indian Engineering Services ) is the common entrance exam conducted All India wide for the young engineer's who want to pursue their career in government engineering sector.

Every year UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) conducts the common entrance exam for the entry into IES to the persons who completed their Bachelor study in any of the following stream
1. Civil Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Examination pattern :

The examination mainly consists of 2 parts

I. Written exam : for 1000 marks

Section 1 - Objective type questions
Section 2 - Conventional ( Essay ) type questions.

II. Interview : for 200 marks.

I.E.S means Indian Engineering Service Examination and the examination was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission every year.

You must have a degree in engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification and candidates who are appearing in the final semester of degree can also apply for the examination.The candidate age should be 21 years to 30 years at the time of appearing for the examination.Relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC categories.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.
