How to choose the specialisation in MBA?

I'm doing my MBA first year. I'm so much confused to choose specializations and our college is offering dual specialisation such as finance with hr,hr with marketing, marketing with finance. What is best for me to get job quickly?

Since you have chosen MBA you are basically interested in a profile of an administrator. First of all there will be some areas that will be of your interest. Like you make like studying about various organisation structures, employer-employee relationship etc. In that HR is the field you need to choose. Or else if you like more the finance subjects then you need to select that area. Always keep in mind do what you are best in than following what others do. The second option should be what you feel comparatively less interesting. Another way to decide would be based on the subjects you chose during graduation. Make sure whatever you choose is something which interests you otherwise you career may not take off as you planned.

Re: How to choose the specialisation in MBA?

In MBA, you can choose any of the specializations like finance with HR, HR with marketing or marketing with finance. All the specializations are equally good. In today’s world, there are excellent openings in all the streams. Studying subjects that are quite easy for us will help us in securing good marks. So choose your favorite subject, so that you can score high marks. I think finance with HR will be preferably good for girls. Likewise, for boys, it would be marketing with finance. There are abundant companies coming forth in private as well as Government sector offering employment to MBA passed outs. Those who successfully complete the programmes with any of the specializations can get placed in the top most level in companies with excellent scale of pay. Also it is important that the course you pursue is from a recognized institute.

Chossing a specialization depends upon your interest.
If you want a career in finance and have analytical skills then go for finance.
If you have good communication and interpersonal skills then you can go for marketing or human resource.

Re: How to choose the specialisation in MBA?

Choosing specialization in MBA depends upon two factors. One is your interest and the other is which type of job you want to get after your Post Graduation. If your are more interested in maintaining good relations with the people around you and you can manage them well , then you should go for H.R.. IF you are interested in marketing and sales industry like FMGC industries in India, then you should opt for marketing. If you like organizing financial stability and are keen to learn the economic development of a country, then you should go for Finance. If your college provides more branches like Information Systems, Biotechnology, etc, you can also opt for them too. Everything depends on your perspective towards that branch.
    all the best!!

you have to choose Stream depending on your interest only..because all branches are equal and you can differenciate them..The specialization now a days is available in different areas like:Finance ,Marketting,Human Resourses,International Managemnt and many more streams...So I would like to tell u that u need not to wory about streams ..Their are Good institutions available in India Like IIMs and other private Institution so prepare well for them and Get the required stream according to your choice....It will totall depend upon your choice only to select a Particular stream

You have to consider some important factors while choosing the branch like your intrest,
the job scenario in the market for that branch, growth in that field etc.
Mostly opted branches are Finance, Marketing , Human resources, Operations management.
It's good that your college is offering dual specialisation .
I think you shoul opt for Finance with Marketing as both are good branches with most scope,
growth and jobs available in the market.

As far as the job prospects are concerned , Marketing with finance is one of the most demanding option and it can definitely lead to a bright career. But the only limitation is that it requires your own
personal interests in the concerned area. Marketing requires a student to work in hectic schedules and tight conditions which is normally not accepted by a number of people and they feel as they are
not satisfied with the nature of work.So the other options can also be considered which may offer more satisfaction and job security. So, i can just suggest you to judge your interests and potential
    before selecting an option.

It's not that hard to choose specialisation in MBA. The stream or area in which you have strong confidence and interest can join in. because the work after MBA completion will take you to up if it is not of your interest then you will not survive or you get bored in it .
so go for your best and make it best by your contribution.

Re: How to choose the specialisation in MBA?

In my opinion, Marketing with Finance has the maximum career opportunities and it should be opted by you if you want a job immediately after competing your MBA.
But the only important aspect is that you should be ready to face cumbersome situations and hectic schedules . Marketing offers tremendous growth opportunities to a candidate but the only condition is that you should have a potential to adjust in that busy and noisy environment.
Marketing job is not meant for those students who cannot tackle multiple problematic situation at one time . It is meant for those students who want to work day and night and want to realize
their aim as soon as possible.
But to some extent it also depends on your personal interests. You should go for only those two areas where you feel yourself comfortable and where you feel attached to the work to the kind of work to be
    performed.

Apart from this option , Human resource with Marketing and Human resource with finance also have ample opportunities for the deserving and hard working candidates.

    Dear friend,
Its Your Life & only you have to study yourself for your growth.
Be hard & strong enough to make own decision on its own.

First choose the subject of your interest or where you can work efficiently.
Or in which specialization you will be more convenient.

Think Yourself in alone. & hear the voice of yourself or go to a counsellor or your teacher for this question.

By the way MBA in HR Management is evergreen specialization for a person.

    Thank You.
