Re: How can I become a genetic engineer?

    hai,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
dear genetic engineering is a relatively new field of biology that has already revolutionized the health care and agricultural industries.great, that you are going to start a career in genetic engineering .
a four year college degree relevant to genetic engineering such as
    • molecular biology,
    • biochemistry,
    • or a degree in genetics.
this wonderful branch of engineering enables you to interface in a modify the process of life .
after getting admission and if you are selected in the research field than you are job is to rearrange the sequence of DNA in gene using artificial methods.
    genetic engineering eligibility:
    • you have to get your 10+2 science with
    • physics,
    • chemistry,
    • and mathematics and biology.
you have to give the entrance exam tests for admission into
    genetic engineering.
you can also pursue B.sc degree courses in genetics,
    biological sciences,
    life sciences,
and biotechnology subjects and than you can for the post graduation (Msc) in genetics.
you will get admission into this course through entrance exams like
    • AIEEE.
    • IIT,
    • SRMEEE,
    • AND STATE LEVEL EXAMINATION.
some of the top genetic engineering colleges in india are
    • IIT Kanpur,
    • IIT kharagpur,
    • IIT Bombay,
    • IIT Delhi,
    • IIT madras,
    • IIT guwahti,

    • NIT Allahabad,
    • NIT Bhopal,
    • NIT calicut,
    • NIT roorkee,
    • NIT Jaipur,
    • NIT hamirpur,
there are several sectors to get employment to genetic engineers and professionals,
you can be absorbed in medical and pharmaceutical industries,
    agricultural sectors ,
semi government and private sectors .
the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries offer the best opportunities for you.
you are going to get 15,000-25,000 as salary packages as freshers if your experience is going to increased than you are going to be paid.

Re: How can I become a genetic engineer?

Genetic Engineering is concerned with deleberate manupulation of genetic material (DNA) of a living organism by artificial method. The study of genetic engineering involve insertion of new genetic material to a unspecified location in the host.
Geneting engineering is also concerned with developing hybrid plant, making plant diseases resistance. Genetic engineering are used in research, biotechnology and medicine.

Free courses offered in this field are:

    1. Bachelor of technology in genetic engineering.
    2. Bachelor of engineering in genetic engineering
    3. Bachelor of science in Genetic engineering

    Eligibility:-

Candidate must have passed class 10+2 with science stream. Many colleges offer admission through AIEEE rank and many colleges also offer admission through class 12 marks.

Few specialisation in this fied are:
    1. Clinical Genetic
    2. Classical Engineering
    3. Genomics
    4. Molecular Genetics
    5. Behavioural Genetics
    6. Algorithm Genetics

    Job prospectus
Graduate in genetic engineer find oppurtunity in medical, pharmaceutical, research centre and agricultural in government and non-government organization.
    Best of luck!!!

    Hello sir/madam.......

Genetic engineer or Biotechnologist is an expert who uses genetic and biotechnological techniques to manipulate genetic material and develops new improved living organisms..........

To become a genetic engineer you need to do bachelors in genetic engineering course......

For that you need to appear for exams like AIEEE,JNU EEE,IIT-JEE......but to appear for those entrance exams you need to complete 10+2 with 60% of marks

After securing good rank in the above mentioned entrance exams ...you need to complete the four year degree program
...after your degree you can go for masters degree followed by PH.D and post doctorate.....

The average salary for this field lies between 20,000
    and 25,000....

    Good Luck.....
