It is very appreciable that you are interested to Join Indian Defense Just after completing your graduation. As a girl you are eligible for CDSE Examination. But girls can only choose OTA(Officer's Training Academy). This is only the option is available for the girls through CDS. This examination one of the most famous examination to Join Defense as an Officer. But the examination is not so easy, you need hard work because lots of candidates appear for this examination, the examination is conducted twice in a year by UPSC.

Notification will be published in official website and all leading newspapers. Your age should between 19-25 years to apply for OTA academy. Graduation is the minimum requirement to apply for this examination.

The selection is based on merit basis, so you need good preparation before appear for the test.

The syllabus is available in the notification when published, please read the notification properly before apply. After clear the test, you will called for Medical test and personal Interview and those who cracked this stages too then are eligible for Training.

Notification published in November and May, this year CDS(I) Examination notification was already published and the last date of apply for this examination was already over. If you have missed the chance this year, then please apply for CDS(II) Examination in May 2013. Notification Published in the official website and also in the leading newspapers.

Eligible and Interested candidates may fill the application form online only from the UPSC Online application Portal. Application form available in two parts and you have to fill both the parts completely.

These are the three services which are offered through the CDS examination.
Through this CDS examination you can appear only for the OTA Officers Training Academy as you are of the female candidates,as the females are eligible only for appearing to the OTS in the Defense sectors through the CDS examination.......

*age Limit-
Should have attained the age of 19 years and the maximum age limits are as per the courses described above and they are....
Indian Military Maximum age limits are- 24 years
Air force- 23 years
Naval Academy- 22 years
OTA - 25 years
*Educational Qualifications-
Should have completed the bachelor of engineering or the bachelor of technology for appearing to the Naval or Air force
Should have completed the bachelor degree in any stream of study for appearing to the Indian Military
*Sex and Marital Status-
Only the Male candidates who are un married are only eligible for the Naval,Air force,Indian Military
OTA non technical cadre selections un married female and male candidates are eligible for appearing..........

The CDS exam is conducted by UPSC and is held every year and before applying for the exam you need to satisfy the framed criteria's for the exam in order to apply for the exam and they include such as:

>> Nationality

>> Martial Status

>> Age limit

>> Education qualification

>> Physical Standard

If you are going to satisfy the criteira's for the exam then you can apply for the exam and that can be done in 2 modes such as:


-> Online

-> Offline


But as you have told that you are a Girl you are only eligible for applying for the CDS exam to join in OTA(Officer Training Academy).

For other forces you cannot apply as for them you need to be a Unmarried male candidate.

But for applying for OTA you need to be a Unmarried/Male candidate or can be a Divorsed or Widow women can apply for the exam and the other standards which are needed to be satisfied along with it are:

>> You need to have a citizenship in India

>> The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate must have 19-25 years of age
