Re: How to become a Journalist in India after completing 12th class with science stream?

    Hi

Journalism is the most responsible career your interest in it is really appreciable. Its more important than theoretical knowledge.

If you have really interest in the journalism course, then after completion of your 10+2 you can go for B.A course.

B.A course is one of the graduation course. The duration this course is 3 years.

To become a journalist its not necessary to become a graduate.

you have the right skills and knowledge then you can fulfill your dream of becoming a journalist.
of course you must have academic excellence.

Some of the news rooms ask for practical skills rather than the academic performance since in journalism its all about how you do the work practically.
It depends upon editors on what basis they want hire.

How ever a degree in journalism is a necessity since everyone is asking degree.

So after completion of your 10+2 you have to take the B.A(Honors)/you have to do graduation in mass communication and journalism from any recognized university.

    Good luck.

Re: How to become a Journalist in India after completing 12th class with science stream?

The career is very exciting and motivating for those who are inquisitive in nature. But the job is also a bit dangerous, because, sometimes the truth might upset a section or some high profiled individuals of the society.

    Eligibility Criteria to become Journalist:

The minimum Educational Qualification required to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism is the successful completion of the 10+2 or equivalent level of education. Although some universities teach Journalism at the Undergraduate Level, the subject is vastly taught at the Postgraduate level in our country.

Graduates of any stream are eligible to opt for Journalism Courses. A Journalism degree or a diploma isn’t strictly necessary, although some organisations prefer it. There is no substitute for Practical Training.

    Journalism Course Institutes :
    Delhi University .
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication at New Delhi and Dhenkanal ( Orissa ).
Asian College of Journalism in Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ).
AJ. Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre in Delhi.
Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication in Pune ( Maharashtra ) Diploma Courses in Journalism and Mass Communication are available at the Xavier Institute of Communication in Mumbai ( Maharashtra).
The Film and Television Institute of India at Pune

    Thanks..
