    The joining in Indian Police Services is done through Civil Services examination.

    Those who are in final year of graduation or have passed graduation, can apply for the exam.

    The graduation degree in any stream from a recognized college is applicable.

    So Computer Science Engineering graduates are well applicable for the exam.

    Age limit:

    21-30 years for GEN category candidates.
    21-33 years for OBC category candidates.
    21-35 years for SC/ST/PD category candidates.

    No. of Attempts

    4 attempts allowed for GEN category candidates.
    7 attempts allowed for OBC category candidates
    No limit for SC/ST/PD category candidates

    After completing B.E. in computer science,the candidate is applicable to sit for the IPS exam, things have to do to become IPS officer are----------
    1>Take admission to a good coaching center.
    2>Do get information about Indian history and geography.
    3>Increase your general knowledge.
    4>Try to speak in English all the time with your friend.
    NOTE:--General category can sit for IPS only 4 times and reserved category can 7 times .
    Some of the coaching centers in delhi are---
    1>IMS (Institute of Mathematical Sciences)
    2>JTS Institute
    3>Geographia

    After completing BE yes you are eligible for the IPS exam. For the IPS exam you must have to apply for the UPSC exam. In this exam we have more then 15 section to apply. the first one is the IAS and the its grade goes down. So apply for the UPSC exam and then you must have to go for the training for the IPS officers.

    Information About UPSC Civil Services Examination -

    IPS Stands for Indian Police Service and this examination was Conducted by UPSC Every year, So If you are Interested to become IPS Officer then please apply for the UPSC Civil services examination.

    The examination was conducted into Two Stages - Preliminary examination and Main examination.

    >> Firstly candidates have to Cracked the Preliminary examination and After crack the Preliminary examination you are eligible to sit in Main examination.

    Eligibility Criteria -

    >> To apply for UPSC Civil services examination you need to complete your Graduation degree course in any discipline form a recognised University.

    >> And Your age should between 21 to 30 years (Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates).

    >> Final year Graduate Candidates are also apply for this examination. There is no minimum Percentage eligibility criteria to apply for this examination.

    So, After completing B.E CSE Course you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination.

    And If you are Interested to become IPS Officer then please apply for this examination next year i.e. in 2012.

    The Dates and Schedule of UPSC Civil services examination was already availiable in the UPSC website. The Notification of This examination was Published in the employment Newspaper OR in the UPSC website in the month of February.

    Important Dates -

    >> Date of Notification Released - 04/Feb/2012
    >> Last Date to apply - 05/March/2012
    >> Examination Date - 20/May/2012.

    After Notification candidates may apply for this examination Online OR Offline.

    Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.

    Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

    Eye sight 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye

    The candidates are selected through 3 stages:

    • Preliminary exam.
    • Main exam.
    • Interview.


    Pattern for the IPS exam:

    Preliminary exam:

    This exam consist of objective type questions.

    Main exam:

    This exam consist of question which are both written which are descriptive.

    Candidates must pass the Preliminary and then the Main to be eligible for the Interview.

    IPS (Indian Police Service) exam is a civil service exam conducted by UPSC.It is conducted in three stages i.e Preliminary,Main and Interview.You need to pass all the three stages in order to become an IPS officer.
    The eligibility for IPS exam is as follows:
    -Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
    -Age limit: 21-30yrs.

    As you have completed your graduation,you can apply for the exam.
    Application forms are available at the post offices by cash payment.

    • It would be a good idea to enrol in a good institute for professional guidance.
    • You could hold discussions, and debates on burning topics to sharpen your analytical skills, and learn to present your thoughts and ideas in a coherent manner.
    • While preparing for Mains, you practice writing your answers, so that you could learn to present your answers in a coherent and in a best manner.

    Dear friend,
    If you want to become IPS officer after B.E degree then its a good decision.To become a IPS officer you have appear for CSAT exam conducted by UPSC every year.

    Pattern of the exam:

    1.IN CSAT there are two exams (1)PRE (2) MAINS .In pre exam two papers will be there,each of two hours a) General studies and b)Optional subject.Objective type questions will be asked.

    2.Main paper comprises of 9 papers,each of three hours.One of the Indian languages,2 papers on general studies ,2 papers on option-1 and 2 papers on optional-2.

    3. In the end interview will be there.

    4.Merit list will be out.

    Important dates:

    1.The prelims will be held around May-June.

    2.The main written examination usually takes place in Oct-Nov.

    3.Interview will take place in the month of April-May.

    Merit list will be out after 1-2 month.

    Whole process will take around 1-1/2 yrs.


    Eligibility for CSAT:

    1.You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age,33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

    2.Four attempts for general , seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

    3.Candidate should have a graduate degree from any college which is recognized by UGC, or possess an equivalent qualification.

    4.If you are in the final semester or have taken final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form.

    to become IPS you have to write CIVIL SERVICES EXAM

    STEPS FOR YOU TO BECOME IPS:

    1) complete degree from any recognised university

    2) apply for CSAT (UPSC CIVIL SERVICES EXAM PRELIMINARY TEST)

    3) after passing prelims appear for mains

    4) AFTER PASSING MAINS they call for interview

    thats it

    so work hard ,concentrate on your aim,all the best

    Well, As we all know that it' s simple if you have completed B.tech

    Well, all guys who are eligible may appear in Civil services examinations and you are eligible since you are a Graduate.

    After this just work on Your syllabus,

    This examination has three levels :

    >> CSAT

    >> Mains

    >> Interview

    Prepare for it in some coaching and you will be okay, may god bless you.
