Re: How to become an IPS officer after B.Tech?

You can appear for the exam either during the final year of graduation or after that. If you plan to take it along with B.Tech time management to balance your time for both the areas will be important. It is advisable to begin your preparation with the CSAT i.e. the prelims. You should regularly update yourself on the latest events and also important events and affairs that have taken place. If possible spend some time reading the newspaper and also read a few pages of any year book daily. Once you are comfortable in this section start preparing for the mains. Select the subjects that interest you from the list in the UPSC site. You need to be well focused to clear the exam as only 4 attempts are allowed.

Re: How to become an IPS officer after B.Tech?

Graduation is essential to apply for IPS post. So, after B.Tech you are in all ways eligible to apply for the same. In order to apply for this post, you need to attend UPSC Civil services exam. Minimum age limit to attend this exam is 21 years. Higher age limit for this post is 30 years. You will have to attempt a preliminary exam first. If you are able to clear this exam you can attend main exam. On clearing both the levels of written examination, physical test is the next procedure. You need to adhere to certain physical standards in areas like weight, eyesight, height, physical fitness etc. Personal interview is the final selection procedure.

Re: How to become an IPS officer after B.Tech?

To become an IPs officer you have to pass “UPSC held Civil Services”examination! This guide is written from the point of view of becoming an IPS officer. However, the procedure to become an IAS etc. officer is also the same!

If you become an IPS officer, you become part of the Indian police Service.
