Re: How to become an IAS officer? What are the subjects to be chosen? Please provide the details.

You are required to clear the entrance exam i.e. Civil Service exam for becoming an IAS officer. But for that you need to fulfill certain criterias. You need to complete your graduation. It should be from a recognised institute and also it can be from any stream. This means you can choose any area of specialisation. You should choose the subject which seems interesting to you. It can be in arts, engineering , commerce etc. You can start preparing for the General Knowledge section now. You need to be a vast reader for the same. This includes reading newspaper, write up on events and celebrities etc. You can start preparing for the other areas a year before you plan to appear for the exam.

Re: How to become an IAS officer? What are the subjects to be chosen? Please provide the details.

You can select any subject according to your interest in studying. There was a false notion that the arts students are scoring more in the CSE. Only thing make the difference is your determination, hard working and commitment towards your dream. You have to have daily touch with the current happening across the world, through with your subjects in Std.8,9,10 and for help you can join to the training centres. The basic qualification required to write the Civil Service examination conducted by UPSE is Graduation in any discipline with atleast 60% in the qualifying examination. The UPSE will announce the date of the entrance exam, CSE in the employment News and all other major dailies. There are mainly 3 stages in the examination, first is the preliminary examination carrying 450 marks consist of the general studies and optional paper( need to select from the list of options). The main exam consists of 9 paper total of 2300 marks. Depending upon your main score candidates are called for the interview and the score in the interview along with the main score determines your selection in the most prestigious job in the nation. The age limit for writing the preliminary is 21-30(reservations are there for the respective category).

If you want to become a IAS officer, then for this you have to apply for UPSC Civil services examination and after clear this examination, you will become IAS Officer. The exams are held on 2 stages - Preliminery exams and mains. Firstly you have to appear in Preliminery exams and then you are eligible to apply for Mains exams. UPSC conducts civil services examination 2 times in year. To appear in this examination, you have to complete your Graduation because graduation is the minimum eligiblity to apply for This examination and your age should between 21 to 30 years, the uppear age relaxation is applicable only for SC, ST and for OBC candidates. So, dont worry, if you want to become IAS Officer, then you can complete your graduation in any discipline Or choose specilization according to your interest. So, please prepare for IAS exams, only then you will get sucess.

Re: How to become an IAS officer? What are the subjects to be chosen? Please provide the details.

to pursue career in Indian Administrative Services, you need to appear for UPSC exam which is conducted once a year. the exam consists of several level like preliminary and mains. one needs to hold bachelor degree in order to be eligible to take up UPSC. therefore firstly, you need to get through +2 with good grades any any discipline. but along with your studies, you need to take care of little subjects/ issues that may help you to get through UPSC comfortably. some of the recommendations are:
For History, Economy, Polity, etc, you should read Class 11 and 12 books published by the NCERT.
try to pick as many facts as you can from the Competition Success Review, which is considered as a bible for UPSC
for General Studies, you should try to read up as many business and political magazines, newspapers etc. that you can.

you also need to complete your bachelors with good grades and thorough concentration on your field of study as you have to choose a subject which you will be tested on during your UPSC exam, and if you are confident enough with your specialization, you wont need to prepare for it later.

Re: How to become an IAS officer? What are the subjects to be chosen? Please provide the details.

Becoming an IAS has nothing to do with selecting subjects in 10+2 standard.
Even science and commerce students go on to become IAS along with arts students. Choose any stream of your liking now.
When you will be done with your graduation , you can start preparing for civil services examination. In fact you can start the prepration
    while pursuing your graduation degree.
The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) of India conducts the IAS exam. The three-step process is: Preliminary Exam (Prelims), Main Exam (Mains), and Interview.
The syllabus and subjects details are too long to be written here my friend.
There are several good guide books available in the market, that will give you an inside depth of the nature of the papers set, syllabus, The approach and strategy that one
should follow to crack these exams.
Be serious about these exams. You have to plan strategically to crack these exams as IAS is one of the toughest exams of India.
