    friend ,,, see after 10 it is not possible to do dental course so after you finish your 12th class you can write any of the dental exam and continue you studies in you dream course ..

    Bachelor of Dental Surgery is an Undergraduate Degree granted for a course or curriculum in the Dentistry field. It is known as B.D.S, which is an acronym form of Bachelor of Dental Surgery. The course duration is 4 years in addition to an internship of one year, as stated by the regulations of Dental council of India.

    Eligibility Criteria for BDS

    As to join a BDS Schools, you must have 50% marks from students of H.S.C (10+2) with PCB subjects and English.

    BDS Course admission is made through State stage selection Board, Common Entrance Test, All India Entrance Exam etc. On the merit basis in the exams, all the candidates opted for BDS admission is carried out.

    To Become a Dentist You have to first clear BDS examination of respective college or Institution.
    BDS is a 5 years Long Course.
    Some of the Popular Exams of BDS are conducted as AIIMS, AIPMT and Other State and Private colleges Entrance Exams like AFMC, DY Patil etc.
    The Eligibility condition is that you must be 12th Passed with minimum 60% in PCB.
    You can Take coaching from reputed institutes like Aakash or Brilliant.
    All you need is Hard work.

    Dentistry is a profession which involves of curing the health problems that afflict the mouth, teeth, gums and other soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity.


    You have pass 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology,
    with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply for admission in the BDS course.

    The All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is general for both the BDS and the MBBS courses. The candidates are selected on the basis of the base marks obtained in the examination. Based on merit scored by the candidates, the institutions are allocated.

    Courses offered in dentistry in India:
    • BDS-Bachelor in Dental science
    • MDS-Master’s in Dental science
    The other different types of courses are:
    • Diploma course in Dental assistance
    • Dental hygienist courses

    Specializations in Dentistry

    To practice as a dentist you must need at least a Bachelor's degree in Dental Science (BDS).

    There is no specialisation at the bachelor level. If you want your career to grow, then you will have to be a specialist with a Masters (MDS) degree.

    The main specialization areas of Dentistry are:

    Orthodontics: which deals with straightening and aligning teeth and jaws

    Periodontics: which specializes in the care of gums and the diseases that might afflict them

    Operative Dentistry or Endodontics for root canal jobs, fillings and cosmetic surgery;

    Prosthodontics which involves the making of artificial teeth;

    Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which deals specifically with operations on the mouth and jaw

    Pediatric Dentistry for treating children and

    Oral Pathology which provides the diagnosis for diseases that affect the mouth.

    Eligibility :

    Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with at least 50% marks are eligible for admission in the Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) course.
