    hello guest,

All graduates who did their graduation either in Regular or Distance mode are eligible to appear for civil services examination conducted by Government of India to become collector. The Union Public Service commission issues a notification either in the month of November/December. All the posts like IAS, IPS, IFS, and IRS….etc are filled through civil services examination which was conducted nationally.

This is conducted in three stages (Preliminary, Mains, and Interview).

In the first stage they will conducts a preliminary examination with all objective type questions for 450 marks divided into two papers called paper -1 which is General studies and paper-2 which is elective optional.

stage 2 has General Essay and two General Studies papers, two optional subjects (4 papers) . Apart from the above they will even test the ability of candidate in local language and English language. In this paper candidate must get 35% of marks as a qualifying mark.

Finally the interview is conducted which is for 300 marks which decides the selection procedure.

Re: How to become a collector? What should I study for it? Which exam should I clear to become a collector?

    Dear..

It is very good to see that you want to be a collector and serve the nation. You can become a collector by two ways. The first one is to give state level administrative exam and the other way is to give civil services exam organized by UPSC. Both the exam that i have mentioned here are very tough to clear and hence if you are thinking of it then its good but proceed only if you are very much dedicated as the success rate of this exam is very low.

    Eligibility :-

Eligibility criteria for IAS is as follows :-

    1. All graduate are eligible and Graduation must be done from a recognized university
    2. Only Indian citizen are eligible
3.. Age limit is 20-30 years
    4. Graduation subject does not matter at all
    5. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC
    6. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory.
    7. No minimum percentage criteria for IAS.
    8. Graduation subject does not matter at all

You have to give UPSC entrance exam conducted once in a year. It is a objective as well as subjective type of paper and it is conducted in 3 stages :-

    IAS PRE
    IAS MAINS
    INTERVIEW

    Hope it will help

    Cheers...!!!
