The Criminal Investigation Department is a crime detection agency under the Government of India

Qualifying exam

To join the Crime Investigation Department you must appear in the Indian Civil Services examination that is held by the Union Public Service Commission.

1. The detail information regarding the exam and its syllabus will be available in all leading publications.
   
2. There are many posts available for you in the CID.
   
3. Their level of entry is determined by their qualification.
   
4. The minimum qualification required for you to join as a constable in the CID is a pass in class 12.
   
5. If one aspires to join as a Sub Inspector, he/she should have cleared graduation.
   
6. Graduation is the requirement for officer level post as well.
   
7. There are many universities in India that offers courses in criminology.
   
8. The basic qualification for this course is a pass in class 10+2 with a milieu in arts or science.
   
9. For those who have a background in law, special courses in criminology are available.

I HAVE DONE GRADUATION IN COMMERCE

I HAVE DONE GRADUATION IN COMMERCE. HOW I CAN APPLY FOR THIS POST.

To join CID you need to appear for CGPE exam i.e. Combined Graduate preliminary Exam which is conducted by SSC board every year.

Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for CID exam.(Criminology)

But your age should be in between 20 to 27 years old.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.
