After 10th class you should select science stream with maths as compulsory subject.you should learn all the concept involved in physics and chemistry, mathematics at 10+2 level is very helpfull in solving engineering problems.during class 12th you have to appear and qualify any one of the following exam-

JEE-conducted by IITS to provide admission in following IITs in aerospace engineering-

IIT Bombay
IIT Madras
IIT Kharagpur
IIT Kanpur

AIEEE-to provide admission in NITs this exam is conducted by CBSE.this exam is conducted in the month of April.

ISAT-conducted by Indian institute of space science and technology, under ISRO.it is first university in asia having state of art facility in aerospace engineering.most of the faculty members are from various research and development industries.there are approximately 160 seats for undergraduate courses.exam is conducted in the month of April.

SRMEEE-this exam is conducted by SRM university.it is the first private university which provide the all facility for aerospace engineering.in academic session 2011-2012 it launched its own satellite with ISRO.to get admission in this university you have to get your rank under 1000.

after graduation in engineering you have to pursue m.tech in aerospace engineering/airspace propulsion etc so that you will join aerospapce research institutes as a scientist.

In case of astronaut you should develop ur skills in science especially in PHYSICS. You can write IITJEE exams after ur +2. for that You need to prepare alot. concentrate on highersecondary education especially in physics and maths.IF U ARE A STATEBOARD STUDENT,YOUR CUTOFF SHOULD BE VERY HIGH AS 199.8 OR 199.5 SO THAT U CAN GET A SEAT IN REPUTED INSTITUTIONS LIKE MIT where our former PRESIDENT DR.KALAM has studied

If you are interested in becoming Astronaut.

Then, you will have to complete your 10+2 first.

You will have to choose Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics as well as Computer Science in 11 and 12.

These subjects are compulsory for you, if you want to become Astronaut in future.

After qualifying 10+2 with good percentage (at least above 60%).

You will have to give entrance exams like ISAT, etc.

After qualifying ISAT successfully.

You will give admission in Indian Institute of Space and Science Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.
