    How to become an Actuarialist?

    I am now in CA final and I also want to become an Actuarialist. Please provide me the necessary information as how can I get admission. I also heard about the entrance exams for entering in that field. I am totally unaware regarding all the steps to be taken. So please provide me all the information from starting till the end to get the admission.

    This field involves calculating the risk involved in various financial situation. It is must that the candidates have a background in Statistics and Mathematics. They should be graduates. Also they should be at least 18 years old. Most of the institutes conduct their own entrance exam. Some of the institutes which offer these course include the DU, Birla Institute, CMD School of Insurance and Actuarial Sciences etc. IGNOU offers correspondence course in this area too. It is important that the candidates be good in the mathematical and calculation area. There are quite a few options available on completion of the course. Options like joining Banking sector, Insurance sector, Investment Banking etc are available.

    As to become an Actuary the candidate must have a core interest towards mathematics subject. An Actuary evaluates the past, present and the future of the insurance statistics and makes an estimation of the future financial risks. On the basis of these findings the calculation of interest premium amount and also the modification of the policies are made in order to keep the company profitable. As to fall in the right track in becoming an actuary, the candidate must have done a bachelors degree in any of the subjects like math’s, statistics, actuarial science etc. The candidates who have done economics, accounting or even finance are also eligible to pursue a career as an Actuary. As to be a qualified actuary, the candidate needs to pass the examination carried out by the Institute of Actuaries of India. The candidate needs to enroll as a student member in the institution. There is no pre-fixed time for becoming a qualified actuary. Usually candidates will take 4 to 6 years for clearing the entire exams.

    I have got a 55% in 12th now i am doing a banking and insurance..can i do a actury exam along with this course
