IBPS Common Written Exam
IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.It conducts common entrance test for selecting thecandidates for clerical post. About 19 banks in the public sector fill their vacancy based on this exam.

Structure and Pattern

Its objective type exam. You have to answer 250 questions in 2 and 1/2 hr. Each question carries 1 mark. You should be more careful as there is negetive marks as well. its -0.25 for every wrong answer. Topics for the exam are:

• Reasoning
• English Language
• Numerical Ability
• General Awareness
• Computer Knowledge

Each topic will have 50 questions.
Qualification Criteria

60% in tenth exam.
50% in twelth exam.
Graduates can also apply.
should be in the age group of 18 to 28 years.
Govt reservation policies apply.

Application Procedure

Candidate need to pay a fee of Rs 350/-. This can be paid by using Debit/Credit card,online banking or even can be paid in the 6 out of 19 banks.

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection and the exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of clerical cadre and specialist officers under 19 public sector banks in India. So let me furnish you with the details of IBPS.

As of 2012 the exam will be conducted on 11: March:2012 and the exam is divided into 2 section . The first section will carry 200 marks which is objective type and comprises of 200 questions which carries 1 marks each. 0.25 marks will be deduced for all the wrong answers. The second section comprises of an essay which carries 25 marks. The Total exam has a weightage of 225 marks.

You must be a citizen of India to apply for the examination. You age limit must be between 20 to 30 years .Age relaxations are applicable for SC/ST, OBC and PHC. For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC candidates it is 3 years, for PHC it is 10 years.

You need to Complete your 10+2 from a recognized board with a minimum 0f 60% from any discipline.

You need to Pass your Graduation from a recognized University with any discipline.

How to Apply for the Exam:


The Notifications about the CWE(Common Written Exam) that is Conducted by IBPS is Published in the Employment newspapers.

You need to apply online and no other mode of application is accepted. The Application fee Costs 350/- for the General Category and 50/- for SC/ST and OBC categories.

Here total marks are 250 and you need to get 40% marks overall for qualified.

you did not mention that from which category you belongs. Because if you belongs to General category so you are not eligible but if you belongs to SC OR ST OR OBC so you can go for this exam.
