    Before applying to the exam you need to make sure that you fulfill all the criteria. Your age should be between 21to 30 years. Also you should be a citizen of the country with no criminal background. Minimum qualification that you should have is a graduation degree. There is no restriction on the area of specialisation during graduation. Make sure it is from a recognized institute. A notification of the test shall be issued by the UPSC. You will have the option to apply either online or offline. The offline forms are available in the post offices. Make sure that fill all the details correctly. You do not need to send across your documents along with the application form.

    The IAS exam is otherwise known to be the Civil Service Exam. It is one of the most sort out career a graduate can opt for. It is carried out by the controlling authority of most of the central government exams, the UPSC. The IAS exam will help a candidate to enter in to different services which include I.A.S., I.P.S., I.F.S, I.R.S along with group A & B services. This exam will have mainly 3 stages, Preliminary, main exam and the interview. The UPSC will notify the recruitment process through various news papers and in the online website. As and when this comes out, aspirants need to get the application form from the concerned post office and apply for the exam.     IAs exam is conducted once a year depnding upon the number of seats that have come /Vacancies.You should be minimum graduate in any discipline to sit for this exam,with minimum of 21 tears to 30 years of age.For pre exam 2 papers are there General studies and One optional subject like Indian History,Management,Physics,Chemistry,Botany,Zoolog y,Mathamatics,Phisioloy.sociology etc..In main paper one will be a language and next will be the subject of your choice .Final is personal Interview,that will be taken by Board members .IAS-Indian Adminitrative services is one of the toughest exam of the country..and it gives the royal job too.IAS is conducted by UPSC every year ,the exam is basically divided into 3 parts first will be preliminary exam in which you will have to prepare for general studies and an optional subject as well,If you clear this round you will be elligible for the main exam in which you will have to answer an English paper and one paper of any language of the country..and if luckilly you clear this stage also you will be elligible for the final round in which you will have to apear for Personal Interview infront of the board members...I must say you need to give your 100% then only you can clear this exam ...

    Indian Administrative Service (IAS) forms a part of Civil services examination conducted by UPSC every year.
    You need to fulfill certain criterion to write the exam.
    Your age must be between 21 to 30 years.
    You must be a graduate in any discipline.
    The examination consists of three stages Preliminary Exam, a Main exam, and an interview.
    You need to clear the preliminary exam in order to sit in the mains exam.

    • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
    • English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
    • Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

    To apply for IAS you have to appear for UPSC exam the eligibility criteria is min graduation from any field ,candidate must be citizen of India ,age limit 21-30 .
    you can get the forms online also as well as offline .at head post office (offline) ; see to it that you have give your details correctly the incorrect forms shall be rejected..................!!!!

    one should be a graduate with 60% marks in graduation
    for becoming ias and ips there is common exam ics indian civil services
    candidates intrested can fill form offline or online on upsc site
    then the subjects has to be decided .ics2011 has already taken place even the results has been declared

    FIRST OF ALL U SHOULD FULFILL THE FOLLOWING ELIGIBILITY:-
    1.AGE SHOULD BE BETWEEN 21-30 YEARS
    2.A GRADUATE WITH A MINIMUM 55%MARKS.
    THEN U HAVE TO FILL FORM FOR UPSC.PREPARE WELL FOLLOWING CURRENT AFFAIRS,PREVIOUS YEAR SAMPLE PAPERS ETC.

    actually for giving IAS examination, you have to fulfill the criteria set by UPSC organization that is the candidate should be a resident of India, minimum eligibility is having bachelors degree with minimum 55%age and age limit is 21-30 years if you fulfill these demands then you can I.A.S examination so as to become a I.A.S officer . And one thing more be physically and mentally strong as you have to serve the nation. forms are available at post offices and preliminary exam is usually held in the month of may or june.

    Civil Services Examination is the most prestigious examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various All India Services including I.A.S., I.P.S., I.F.S., I.R.S., and various Group A Services and Group B Serices.
    (1) PLAN OF EXAMINATION:-
    Normaly applications are invited by UPSC notifications in leading News Papers during December every year.

    The Civil Services Examination consists of three stages.

    a. Civil Services Preliminary Examination (objective Type) (Usually conducted in May)
    b. Civil Services Main Examination(Written)(Conducted during october/november)
    c. Interview and final selection (During April/May).

    Civil Service exam is held once in year, this exam is part of Civil service exam and exam is conducted by UPSC.

    Eligibility criteria for Civil service exam:
    >>You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university.
    >>Age should be between 21 to 30 years for if you belong to General category ,21to 33 year if you belong to OBC category,21 to 35 years if you belong to SC/ST category

    Number of attempts:
    You can attempt 4 times if you belong to General category
    You can attempt 7 times if you belong to Obc category

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service and to become IAS Officer, you have to apply for the UPSC Civil services examination, This examination is Conducted by UPSC For the Recruitment of IAS/IPS and Other officers in Government Sector. This examination is Conducted into 2 Phases, Preliminary examination and Main examination.

    Firstly, You have to cracked the Preliminary examination only then you are eligible for Main examination.

    Preliminary examination are Objective and there are 2 Papers in this examination and Both are conducted in same day, the duration of both the examination are same and both the papers are same Marks.

    Main examination is Descriptive and there are 7 Papers in Main examination and for this you have to choose the optional subjects on the basis of Graduation. The Papers is consist of One of the Indian Languages chosen from the prescribed list, English, Essay, Optional Subject 1, Optional Subject 1, Optional Subject 2 and last Optional Subject 2.

    The papers on Indian Languages and English will be of 10Th examination or equivalent standard But the marks obtained in these papers will not be counted for ranking.

    All the papers will consist of Conventional Type questions only and all Question Papers, other than language papers, will be set both in Hindi and English. Those who cracked the Preliminary examination as well as Main examination are eligible for Final Interview. Interview will carry 300 marks, the number of candidates called for Interview will be twice the number of vacancies and Total marks obtained by the candidate in the Main Examination.

    So, please prepare well for Preliminary examination only then you are appear for Main examination.

    Eligiblity criteria :

    IAS stands for Indian Administrative service and the exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public service commission) to recruit candidates for the post of IAS/IPS/IFS/IES and various other government posts. The notifications about the exams are published in the employment newspapers or it is updated in the Website.

    The exam is divided into two phases.

    Preliminary exam
    Main exam


    The preliminary exam consists of two subjects and each subject carries 200 mmraks. The duration of the exam is 120 Minutes each. Both exam are conducted on the same date.

    If you get qualified in the Preliminary exam, you can appear for the Main exam that is Conducted in the month of August or October.

    The Main consists of 7 papers and each carries 300 Marks, paper II carries 200 marks where you need to write an essay. Th main exam carries 2000 marks.


    For the UPSC exams you need to fulfill some eligibility criteria to appear:

    Your age must be between 21 years to 30 years
    You Must be a graduate from a recognized University from an discipline.
    Even final year Students can also apply for the exam.

    Age relaxations applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates.

    For SC/ST the age relaxation is 5 years
    For OBC the age relaxation is 3 years.
    10 years age relaxation for the disabled

    Attempts:

    A general Category Candidate can attempt 4 times.
    A OBC category candidate can attempt 7 times.
    SC/ST candidates have no limits.
