It is quite interesting choice - to go in for economics after engineering. But definitely you can go in for MA Economics after engineering. You can check site of JNU, one of the most well known economics/finance teaching colleges in India. They offer MA program in economics to engineers with more than 60% marks. Now if you are looking at making your profile stronger, we suggest you to do MBA and take finance as a specialisation area, which can take care of your interest in economics. So it is basically two birds for one fire shot.

Asynchronous counter: An asynchronous counter is a single K-type flip-flop. This circuit can store one bit, and hence can count from zero to one before it overflows (starts over from 0).
Synchronous counter: A simple way of implementing the logic for each bit of an ascending counter. Synchronous counters can also be implemented with hardware finite state machines.
