You can pursue any stream after 10th class to become an IAS officer in future. There is no specification regarding a particular subject area which you need to opt to get in to this post. Graduation is the required qualification from a recognized institute to apply for this post. UPSC Civil services exam are conducted as part of selection for this post. Minimum age limit to apply for this post is 21 years. Maximum age limit to apply for this post is 30 years. Relaxation is given for reserved category candidates. You will need to appear for Preliminary exam first and on qualifying that stage will need to appear for Main exam also.

    Hey friend,

To become a IAS officer at just doing 10th is good as it is good to see your ambition. To become a IAS officer you need to write the IAS exam which is being conducted by UPSC and is held every year and this exam is known as Indian Civil Service Exam.

There is nothing to be regarded about the group which you need to choose for becoming a IAS officer as there is nothing to be regarded about it.

The +2 percentage is nothing to be regarded for the IAS exam,as the percentage which you get in your respected degree is only taken into assistance,

And you can do any of the degree in any discipline as there is nothing specifically mentioned, but you should have completed a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage,

The other criteria's which are needed to be satisfied along with the education qualification are that:

    >> You need to be a Citizen of India as per the Nationality standard for the Exam

    >> The age limit needed for the exam is that the candidate appearing for the exam must have 21-30 years and it is for General category candidate

    >> The age limit for SC/ST candidate is 21-35 years

    >> For OBC candidate it is 21-33 years

If you are going to satisfy all these criteria for the exam then you can apply for the IAS exam
